Over the years I had many different high end suspension kits but I’m useless at any kind of feedback etc….

So my question is as my car is mainly track oriented ( or will be ) is it worth changing the suspension or not and what’s the best to go for ??

Currently I have springs and camber bolts with geo

Nitron
Ohlins
BW
Etc ……

Thanks

No extensive experience on what is the best kit but if you use for dedicated track fun then stiffer springs (ie coilovers) are likely way to go.
Depends on many variables what's the best for you (serviceability, setup support, technical design etc).

Does the car handle as you would like with just springs and camber bolts?

I had nitrons on my Evo 6 track car... Transformed it... And didn't wear tyres as much as the old tein super racing suspension. (the suspension was doing the work rather than the tyres😎)

All I can say Is buy the best you can afford and take it to someone who knows what they are doing setting it up.

(if it was me... I'd be looking at KW or Nitron for track work... Both similar priced... Both really good and have good aftersales back up in this country.)

I do like the handling very much, but I know it can be improved.

I like the sound of the 1 ways as I’m not technical so they would suit me, I ran the nitrons before and I know a few in TA running them so I’ll have a look at both you suggested thanks 👍🏼

I had a plan to ask if one well accomplished suspension shop could check if they had anything special by using bilstein shocks as they have build budget kits for rally and track for ages - would assume they could come up with something. Havent just managed to get it further..

Bilstein has a suspension for the GR Yaris but it is made by NTP from italy. They developed it for TimeAttack and won some Races with it as far as i know.
Eventuri is using it for example. There is a youtube video on their channel about it. It's this one.
thanks for the info - didn't know this. It has adjustable height which I think is the way to go with track dedicated cars (or with any coilovers to the matter).

Hi mate, hope your well!! New Mlr,haha... drove one with Ohlins the other week, uprated roll bars etc...usual evo stuff lol.Drove really well, felt much improved on a normally bouncy road.Cant comment for track but Ohlins are nice on the road and if going by previous, the road and track stuff was usually on the softer side on track compared to Nitron,Kw etc.Never get it all the way, probably going to get some Ohlins for my one.

That would be my choice (as was with the Evo)...

Ohlins for road and 1-2 trackdays a year
KW or Nitron for mostly track work and setting lap times.

Not sure about the Nitrons offered for the GRY, they are marketed as a road package and on the other site there were a voice that deeply disliked them on track?
KW Clubsport v4 on the other hand is track dedicated kit, not really intended for road use... (edit: although spring rates F/R of 60/50 N/mm might actually allow for that)

Personally I'm mostly intrigued by the BOS suspension for road and some track, let's see what @FrakassoR has for experience...

Here are my comments on BOS suspensions.
I rode a morning (100 km) on the circuit last Saturday.

Setup:
- BOS suspension
- WHITELINE front stabilizer bar (soft)
- HARDRACE steering links
- WHITELINE rear stabilizer bar (hard)

The car’s behavior is changed, much less body movement and roll.
Comfort is not affected that much.
It is a very good compromise road and circuit I find.
For those who would only do circuit, could the KW Clubsport be even firmer?

But I have to test again this Saturday (but they announce rain), hardening the front shocks.
I also plan to install DNA damper heads to adjust the bodywork in addition to the WHITELINE eccentric screws. Test end of November for this.

Here’s a video of the back of my car, to see how the car behaves

Did you add the Whiteline bars prior or after the BOS?
Just wondering what effect the Whiteline bars would have on stock suspension.

I put everything together at the same time to limit the number of times I spend on the car.

To bounce off your post in another thread, I made these changes to limit the behavior of the car above 130/150 km/h, which had the rear that moved much (too) to my liking;)

We generally provide a couple of options to our customers. Our own height adjustable spring kit for those who aren't looking to break the bank and want to dial out the pitching and rolling of the standard car whilst being able to lower the C of G and the ability to cornerweight the car.
For those customers who want to spend a bit of money and get all of the above but also go to an aftermarket damper and really take the GR to another level, then we suggest the Ohlins road and track. We think this is the best aftermarket kit on the market. Certainly a kit to consider if your brief is, using the car on the road regularly, doing plenty of track days, Nurburgring trips etc etc....They work well everywhere. They are definitely not too soft for regular track work as someone mentioned above.

Hi STG, I'm interested in your wheel spacers & Eibach Pro kit Yaris GR kits. Do they compromise or improve drivability? I am predominantly after the look but I don't want to create any issues. Also, are the springs easy to fit at home, with a jack, common tools etc? Many thanks :)

I would definitely go with Ohlins as a no brainer … Had it on my STi and Evo and works the part.
Previously had HKS Hypermax sv and were quite good too.

Yes lowering springs are easy enough to fit if you have some level of mechanical competence and suitable tools. You will need to get your car aligned afterwards. I genuinely think a lot of bad press created around lowered cars and handling is down to the fact that people get their cars lowered and never aligned. Factor that into your plans.
Our spacers are easy to fit but we provide instructions.
The Eibach pro kit will give a nice visual improvement but if you are looking at visuals and performance improvement I would recommend our Height adjustable spring kit. You can choose the height you want your car at, the car can be corner weighted and properly setup. Best bang for buck suspension upgrade on the market for the GR.
Not sure where you are located but we can offer supply, install and setup/align if you aren't confident in installing at home.

Hi Martin

Hope you’re good bud, I’m more focused on my local hillclimb which is the TT course ( our roads ) so don’t really know if classed as road or track 🤣🤣 as it’s both !!

But thanks for the feedback, it’s started again 🤣🤣 in talks for 400bhp 🤦🏼
