GR86 Back order on oil filters

Not really. They still charged me £235, I supplied my own oil and filter which cost me about £65 so I'm probably only saving £15-£20. They charge for all sorts looking at it. Even washer fluid which I always brim before it goes in but I was too tired at the time to query it.
I feel your pain.

Every service, regardless of manufacturer, there’s a charge for washer fluid. Regardless of the fill level.

Like you I pre-fill to the maximum every time in the hope that there might be an honest operator out there. There isn’t.

In that single moment they destroy trust and confidence in their competence. 🤔

No point in querying it - never had a dealer respond well to “liar, liar pants on …”

If anyone encounters a Toyota dealer who says “we didn’t charge you for washer fluid….because it was full” let me know.

Won’t believe you [obvs] but it would be great to believe there’s a unicorn out there. 😂

Update - Took the car to Hamilton, Fiona could not be more welcoming, apologised again for the oil filter supply challenge and informed me that I would received a full refund on the filter I purchased from Subaru as this is not something they expect a customer to have to do. After I checked the car in for the service I spoke to David (Aftersales Manager) and thanked him for his support on the matter. With a number of forum members now taking their GR's to their dealership he will ensure that they have service parts 'on the shelf'.
15 minutes in and enjoying a coffee whilst looking at their white 74 plate GR Yaris MkII, David informed me that the morning parts supply had been delivered and 3 filters for the GR86 were included. One was swiftly fitted to my car and the one I had supplied returned back to me unopened, and I still received the cost of the filter back into my account! Great customer service :)
Said it previously, if you can make your way to Hamilton dealership, it is worth it.

That’s how to do it. It’s not the problem, it’s how it’s addressed makes good customer concern handling! 👌🏻

I was impressed by Hamilton, you'll not go wrong. It will be interesting if Ayr's new dealership, which will also be a GR centre will tempt me in future. Either way, two close by within an hour and Glasgow. Options...

I remember having a go at BMW about that when they serviced my M3, Every service after they always said "We'll leve the washer fluid". - even years alter when I took company cars in.

I was actually quote impressed with the fact that they clearly kept custoemr notes, then wonders what the other ones said "customer is a pain in the arse" etc.

Toyota could certainly learn a few things service wise from BMW. then again a service was £1,200, over 15 years ago!

I just checked my invoice and I was charged £1 .67 for washer fluid 😂. I have never topped it up though.

Interestingly, I think they also adjusted my handbrake. Always thought it was a quirk of the car as to how high it sat, but after the service it is noticeably tighter and now rests in lower position when activated. No reference to this on paperwork.

Hopefully they didn’t over tighten it like Listers did on my GT86 a couple of years ago.. squealed badly and overheated the caliper and cost both a day of holiday & the hassle of needing to be recovered etc etc
