There's also a race version of the GR Corolla. But I like that comment about bringing GR models to the market place - would be a shame to be making the Corolla here but not selling it.

If it is the Corolla I’d be interested. But only if it has the latest 2.0 engine and not the same car that’s out now, and has been out for ages. A new version is expected and I would assume that one is being built in the U.K. Can’t see them setting all the tooling up for an outgoing model. Let’s see. Any continuation of GR cars is a good thing.

There's been a few articles in the press recently suggesting the UK will get the GR Corolla.

Amusingly, these state that "experts" think it will cost "around £40k".

Well, these "experts" must be either hitting the crack pipe, or be my dad who's idea of what things should cost is rooted firmly in 1995.

With the GR Y costing £46k+, it's going to be low to mid fifties, surely. Civic Type R pricing.

I really liked the idea of one until I realised this, think I'd take a used FL5 Type R over one if that's the case.

I mean it would be great if they used whatever the pricing strategy was when they let us first-batchers have our GR86s for £29,995 and put it up for £39,995 for example.

We can but dream!

Whatever it costs, it'll probably come fully loaded and there won't be any "extended leather pack" for three grand or "styling and lighting pack" for four grand silliness like with the German alternatives.

At which point you would buy the Honda.

Except the Type R is discontinued.

I'll be at Goodwood this year to will shout up if I hear anything.
Last year I was there and they told me toyota was well down the track designing a propper GR Yaris Cross. Please ask them about if that is happening as I would trade my base YC in for a GR YC in a flash as I love the extra practicality of a small SUV - 4 seats and dog in back etc.
