@grzoostuff In 1988 had a AE86 TwinCam Corolla GT Coupe as 1st Toyota.

Had (RWD) AE86 for six years and did a 100k well used miles with it. Only ever needed a handbrake cable. Loved it.
Its 4AGE engine was a rev happy gem. I seemed to mainly came off wet roundabouts a little bit sideways.

Next was a 1991 (Pre-Catalytic Converter & Pre Airbag Days) Toyota 2.0 GT-i-16 (ST182) Celica.
Strong 3S-GE (Yamaha Cylinder-Head) Engine.

I wrote that FWD (Gen5) Celica off (driver fwd error) after loosing it by under-steering lifting off to oversteer and launch it fully air-bourne up a hedgebank ramp and fly it down into the field below road level. The car landed nose dive down first on the front righthand side and flipped over lenght wise, it then bounced and rolled over sideways back onto its wheels. I kicked door open and emerged physicaly un-harmed… Great cars.

When I was a student in 2005, I bought from a friend of my grandmother (who had stopped driving) a 1991 Corolla 1.6 automatic, resplendent in GL Executive specification, with four electric windows, crushed velour upholstery and a sealed shut sunroof.

I put 20k in a year on it bouncing back & forth to uni with nothing more than routine maintenance. The car was bulletproof, liberating (I could park it anywhere and not worry) and as a bonus, went sideways at 20mph thanks to some pretty questionable budget tyres.

Also looked ace with a body kit my pals & I fitted. There was a Sierra Cosworth tea tray spoiler, but unfortunately this failed the high speed* testing program.

*It came off at around 40mph.

Class, and now you run a successful body-kit company :)

2001 MR2 Roadster manual (dark blue) - had air-con (which I think was a factory fit option).
2012 GT86 manual (pearl white) with the half red interior.
2022 GR86 manual (silver).

Pushing 30 cars now but think only 3 have been toyotas;
1991 mr2 mk2 uk rev 1 - pink track hack
2001 mr2 mk3, oily smoker bought as a 2zz swap project, sold a year later having only spent 2 days working on it
2022 gr86, dirty daily

Had many but notable long termers have been Aygos, a Starlet, Auris T180, 05 Land Cruiser, GT86, GR Yaris. Currently a GR86 and 2 Corolla T Sports! Always wanted an AE86

Nice. 30 eh. wouldn't be surprised in BMWs and/or Cayman in there.

I always desired Celicas, Supras and MR2s from when they were new in the 80s and 90s but always ended up buying something German.

Very happy to be in a GR86, there really isn't anything else like it right now.
@leosayer Agree. Cayman is bracket of its own to older to be same money.

@Netcon aka Toyota man…. AE86 good but had to be revved and rust but great fun with super and tough engine. Mine was 2 years old and I kept it for 6.5 years and put 100k miles on it.
