Has anyone else tried a Sam's detailing drying towel - it's a revelation and dries a whole car without wringing and quick.

I havent but do know the guy who appears on every media feed I have!
Good endorcement thanks.
I bought one of these for my car towels/mits which is also pretty effective especially when finished the cleaning and want the items to be 'almost' dry before storing :) (and got it reconditioned so was about £70) https://www.whiteknightdryers.com/product/english-electric-gravity-drain-spin-dryer-28009wp-5-2kg/

First wash since leaving Japan. 700 miles in.

Filthy. Asked the stealership not to wash it or remove any packaging.

Used a combination of gtechniq gwash and Gyeon restart, dried, Gyeon Iron remover, clay. Was still fairly dirty, plenty of marks where the white protection film was.

Then half a day spent polishing with a Flex vrg, Lake Country blue finishing and Menzerna 3500 super finish which was enough to clean up the paint quickly, no serious defects to deal with.

Topped with 2 coats of MOHS and 2 coats of Gyeon Can Coat with an hour between.

Wheels got a full decon and Gyeon Rim.

Glass Gyeon whatever its called, and rain racer on the side windows. I've found the inside of the glass extremely difficult to get clean with Autofinesse Crystal, I might use some glass polish on the insides.

Looking forward to seeing the beading.

Edit to add beading... the whole car does this. Gas cap. Wiper blades. Headlights. You name it it beads

Accepted wisdom: You'll never get a really good glossy shine with a silver car.

@Bathroom_Security : Hold my bottle of Gyeon...

First time I used a drying aid today. Best product I've used in a long time 😯 and a nice new big towel from Monello, so satisfying to work with.

There's been a lot of sahara sand flying around lately, but on the GR it seems to be visible even more. On the last car I treated with this hybrid ceramic stuff I noticed the same. Could beading cause these sand spots to be visible more, by grouping the sand?

Has anyone got any good ideas/tips for less condensation on the rear window. Seems to get foggy most trips in my car . Looking at anti fog spray but all have questionable reviews.

The inside of the rear window can be a complete pain to clean, or apply any sort of product too, so to be honest, I'd avoid touching it if at all possible.
Do you use your air con all the time? My rear screen is often foggy first thing, but I can't say I've had trouble with it during long trips.

No don’t really use air con if I can help it. Tbh I was potentially gonna put the seats down in the back and go through the boot if I had too and lie down 😂

My advice would be never turn it off, even in winter. It should solve your problem by keeping the car dry inside. It probably doesnt really impact fuel economy that much, and it helps keep the AC system in good working order; it's infrequent use which leads to leaks and the need to regas the system occasionally (which probably wipes out any fuel economy savings). I never turned off the AC in my old car, and it was still blowing ice cold with no maintenance after 9 years.

Good tip about lying in the boot though. I've opted for sitting-in-rear-seats-with-arms-above-head-and-neck-craned-back method. At least there's not a stupid brake light in the way this time :D

I noticed the other day the back window had condensation on it, I hadn't even been in the car but the sun had been on it and warmed the interior and when it got cold after the sun had passed over it created the condensation, my MINI suffers with the same problem when the sun has been on it too. One solution I found for the MINI was to open the windows a few mm and allow the air to circulate and then close the windows around sunset. Obviously only viable if the car is within eye line and you can keep an eye on it.

Actually mines parked in a garage. I think it’s just because I’m a hot boy when I’m driving and causes the condensation 😂

Leave the recirc off unless its smelly outside and keep the A/C on, never had a problem, unless the mats in the car are wet (not a problem when you have rubber ones) or the car is left unused for a long time over winter.

Any advice on cleaning mud scuffs off the internal door trim from shoes?

Have tried a few things and mud seems to want to stay there forever.
