GR86 A sensitive issue: The novelty factor of sitting in a GR86, BMI, and the risk of scuffed plastics

Late to the party... I always tell people the car has soft materials so please be super careful with feet/hands getting in and out. This either puts them off getting in or they are indeed super careful getting in and out.

Blaming the car not the person seems to have worked up to this point.

It could also be the crazed twitch in my eye as I'm watching them that does it, but who knows.

At least it's only the drivers door - I have a steering wheel lock that makes entrance look tricky, though it's a bit extreme to put it on just when showing people the car ;)

I'm quite small: 5 ft 6, 70kg and don't generally have much trouble getting in and out. I'm 56 and have rheumatoid arthritis but (touch wood) the medication keeps that under control and it isn't currently a limiting factor for me.
Everyone else who's been in the car comments on how 'low' it is, how 'snug' it is, and is a car for 'younger people'.
My partner makes some sort of comment every time we go out and she's only 5'1 and not overweight.
I just nod and make affirmative sounding noises...
On the other hand, my friend's daughter reckoned it was easier to get in and out of the back than their BMW 1 series.

Weighing in at 64kg wet, I work on the basis that my light weight allows for a fatty in the passenger seat.

Although the unequal balance between near and off side keeps me awake at night.

My car still has the delivery 'protective' plastic on the lower portion of the door cards, steering column, pedals and a few other places. I intend to keep it there until Xmas, when all of the 'upgrades' will be completed and I won't have strangers clambering in and out. That said, even with the lower door card protected, the chap installing an additional immobiliser system has somehow managed to scuff the driver side card above the protective film! He must have done the bloody can-can when he got out FFS!?

Ha ha, he must have tried getting his leg over!

Park at the top of a hill. If they're out of breath by the time they get to the car, tell them you forgot your keys and that you need to go back for them. When you're half way back down the hill, sprint back to the car (they wont catch you) get in and drive away.
