    GR86 Magnetite, Durham

Bronze or Gold wheels look great with Neptune/Electric blue. The silver wheels look better too. (y) Yes, good to see the weather picking up for drives out. :)

    GR86 Magnetite, Durham

Your sub does look a very neat fit and being an official Toyota part everything should fit well. It was interesting to see the Kicker remote plugs in for level adjustment on the fly. That's definitely needed with a GR86 headunit, the bass level varies quite a bit with the volume. The GY F1 AS-6...

    GR86 Magnetite, Durham

Long overdue update. The car is currently at 12,000 miles, hasn't had any problems. Use has mostly been touring trips UK and Europe, and fine weather days out. The odd run out in the winter, if it's not too wet and cold. I still love driving it and hope to for a long while yet. The biggest...

    GR86 Car cover recommendation

I picked up a car cover in Walmart last year, just a basic one, branded 'Budge'. Size 2, 170" is a good fit. It cost around $40 a year ago, but is currently only $21.99 on the Walmart Web site. 😲 The cover is used just to keep the dust off the car in the garage and it does that adequately. If...

GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

The weather today certainly brought a few cars out! I've been waiting ages for a dry day and double digit temperature, so had a run through the North Pennines. Middleton-in-Teesdale, Alston, Penrith. Turned round and back the same way.:) Durham side the road was quiet, but in Cumbria there...

    GR86 Service cost increase?

I took out a 3 year plan when the car was new and will continue to use dealer servicing after the plan ends. Rather than take out another plan, going forward I will pay for the service outright when it's due. Why pay a service plan provider, upfront, for work that hasn't been done yet? Choose a...

FURRY GR86 owners? Nah, some of us may be old and slightly confused at times, but we're not that confused.

GR86 GR86 European Road Trip Report: France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Italy (pic heavy)

A great write up for an amazing trip. Some very familiar places there and a few notes taken for future reference. As Hannibal used to say, "I love it when a plan comes together." That would have taken quite some planning. (y) Thanks for sharing.

Called in at the excellent Airborne Museum Hartenstein, Arnhem, while travelling through Holland today. After the museum, drove over the bridges at Arnhem and Eindhoven that were part of the objectives of Operation Market Garden. Heading down to the Black Forest next week.

GR86 Yuzu Edition review, TFL Car

They get what the car is about, and it's still good in 2025. 36,000 $ US + vat is exactly £32k at today's exchange rate. I'd buy another one at that price. Some might prefer the video with the sound off and subtitles on. :)

Wow, that's some commitment to road tripping! Great to hear the boundaries being pushed and the car being enjoyed to the full. :)(y) I'll look forward to hearing about the mods and the trip. Of course it can all be returned to standard with a swap back to the original parts.

    GR86 Euro Road Trip Advice

I've had no major issues with the GR86 on longer road trips, where niggles would usually surface, I just get in and drive every day. On day 7 of a 10 day trip to the Alps things caught up and I was tired, not because of the car, just driving 7 days without a full day off. No issues with the...

Last pics from this trip, because I'm travelling home tomorrow. Pulled into Plockton this morning and there was a pair of Lotus' (Lotuses, Lotus's Lotii ?? 🤷‍♂️ ) already in the carpark. In the afternoon had a quick lap of Skye, dodging a few heavy showers. Mostly it was fine, dry and...

Thanks, the GR was bought for trips, so the name seemed apt. I'm doing my best to get the most out of it and make up for waiting too long to do these things. (y)

Passing through Glencoe, had a detour down Glen Etive for a photo. Managed to get the car in place between groups of foreign tourists, all there for the same shot.

Touring round West coast Scotland at the moment, today I had an unplanned meet up at the Mull of Kintyre. It was a pleasure to meet the owner of the of the immaculate red GR, have a good chat and take photos. :)(y)
