Unfortunately I have to agree with @JoaoGR86 that at least in hot weather, the stock discs aren’t enough for serious track work.
I was recently at the Nurburgring with temperatures of around 26 degrees celcius.
While down there, the car was at Raeder Motorsport to have KW V3 Clubsport, Endless...
Interesting and worrying.. Thanks you for the detailed explanation!
I’ve already put a deposit in for them to (among other things) specifically get the KW V3 Clubsport for the GR86, as KW had 30 year anniversary discounts in the beginning of the year.
I was sold on their reputation, stainless...
KW V3 Clubsport? What’s the reason for the switch to Ohlins and how do they compare?
I’m scheduled to get V3 Clubsports installed by Raeder Motorsport 🙈
I'm interested in the same thing myself. I have already made up my mind regarding getting the V3 though, but wouldn't mind hearing if someone else have experience with them.
I know @GRistopher has V1's as I've already bombared him with questions, but I can tell you that I'm going to reach out...
I can report back that it does work! Put on my summer wheels/tires this sunday, and after pressing the button in the glovebox three times in a row (as per Toyotas instruction) it switched to my second set of wheels after a short drive.
So Toyota are able to program in two sets of TMPS (while not...
Sorry for bumping an older thread, but how did you know that the OEM studs didn't touch the rims?
I'm lowering my car on KW V1 coilovers and will use 20 mm spacers on the stock rims for my winter setup, but due to my summer OZ Leggera's being 18x8 +45, I would like to run a 15 mm spacer here...
Thank you all for your replies!
@ninjin are you going to install the ARP studs yourself? I would have a workshop do it (along with the coilovers) and after seeing videos of the install (of the 3 inch) some seem to unattach the rear hub all together, while other seem to manage without. Is it a...
Okay, bit of a boring thread, but hear me out, and help make a decision so that I can spend my hard earned cash on something better than our new (used) Skoda Enyaq
I'm going get KW V1 coilovers installed on my GR86 and drop the ride hight approximately 1 inch (25 mm) from stock.
Along...
Where did you get the center caps? Do they come in different colors and do they fit other wheel brands like OZ?
I'm having trouble finding caps that fit my OZ Leggera wheels, other than the original OZ caps.
I understand, and I'm afraid that I'll end up feeling the same way 😅
But am I correct to assume that the helper spring is compressed more, the more you lower the car? If so, it surprises me that your helper spring is compressed at full droop (I saw the picture of the spring compressed as well)...
Thank you for the replies!
I'm probably going to start out with stock arms and end links, and just add a bit more front camber possibly, if its doable with my current camber bolts, to balance it out.
Regarding the helper spring system on the KW V1 (and the V3 as well for that matter), I've...
@GRistopher did you ever end up installing shorter endlinks in the rear, or did you resolve your clunking noises another way?
I'm trying to determine if I need new rear lower control arms abd end links, when I order the same KW V1, or if I can keep the stock components with the new coilovers...
I actually have a positive live update:
Another technician came up to me and said that I might have been mislead a bit by his colleague, and that he will try and code in the winter set as a second set of wheels.
Let's see if it works 🤞
Update:
It might be a success. They believe both sets are...
Second service is going "well".
I always bring my own engine oil (Castrol Edge 0W-20), and when he asked if i brought the right oil, I saw that they had specified 0W-16 on the invoice. I then had to argue with him that 0W-20 is what it says on the oil cap as well as in the manual.
I now know...
I got new rims last spring with non-original TPMS, and had a workshop mount them and code the TPMS. They work as intended, but then when I mounted my original wheels with my winter tires this winter I found that they had overritten the original sensors as they didn't work anymore.
I now have my...
My 30.000 km service (2nd dealer service, but car is 1,5 years old) is due this Thursday. I'm bringing my own engine oil as usual, and have already stated that I want original parts (which gave me the correct oil filter last time), but I'm wondering whether I should remove my HKS drop-in filter...
Please report back and if they work also we're you got them from! It's frustrating when driving in a convoy on a b-road (unable to put some distance to the car tailgating behind) to be totally blinded in the winter!
Looks perfect!
How much lower does the car sit than stock, and what is the rim size/spacer size? I'm looking at coilovers, ARP extended studs for spacers, as well as 225/40R18 tires for my 8 inch wide rims (once the OEM tires get worn out) and your setup seems very close to what I want to...
Also why wouldn't your OEM nuts fit your longr ARP studs? I assume that the longer studs are for spacers, so if the spacer is the same size as the difference between the OEM studs and your ARP ones, wouldn't the OEM nuts still fit?
