GR Yaris GR yaris wins a couple of Auto Express Driver Power awards

It’ll probably win the best hot hatch category. What came a close second for handling? A f***ing Land Rover Disco. Closely followed by the Ever Given, during its 3 point turn attempt in the Suez Canal. Jesus wept. Citroen C4. The prosecution rests, your honour.

He’s taking it back to Essex though! This is on that weekend (17-18th June), I’ll be going: https://www.vhra.co.uk/pendine-sands-hot-rod-races

GR Yaris Steffydog buys a White GR Circuit . . .

That’s my local dealership then. Make two days of it and go home via the Brecon Beacons.

GR Yaris Steffydog buys a White GR Circuit . . .

Welcome, and very good choice of spec and colour. Whereabouts in Wales are you picking it up from?

GR Yaris R&T: More Cylinders Don't Always Mean More Power

They do, a 4 stroke engine will always mean a piston being on the power stroke every two revolutions of the crankshaft or 720 degrees. So an inline-4 cyl will be 180 degrees and an inline-3 cyl 240 degrees between power strokes. The 120 degrees and 90 degrees refers to the crankshaft angle of...

GR Yaris R&T: More Cylinders Don't Always Mean More Power

An inline-3 cyl in inherently better balanced than a 4 cyl engine. It’s half of a straight six which is the most perfectly balanced engine of all configurations. The fact that it’s half creates an imbalance due to the torque not being in unison across the crankshaft, hence why they need a...

GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

I’m surprised the mods haven’t said it yet, but can we keep this great thread on topic? I’ve read every bullshit anti-cycling argument out there since the internet started. There is no solution to it, might as well argue about religion or politics. Cyclists aren’t going anywhere, they were...

GR Yaris JWW x String Theory Garage GR Yaris

I enjoyed that. JJW guy reminds me a lot of Alan Partridge, even before he said ‘Evolution, not revolution’. Or whatever. 😂

GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

Took my daughter to BikePark Wales yesterday. Felt very cool rocking up in the Yaris amongst all the vans and SUVs with bike racks. Until I had to take all the bits out and assemble them in the car park.😂 It was actually very easy and got two mtbs and all the clobber in there no probs. So nice...

GR86 Grey ‘86 in South Wales

If I’m sitting anywhere in view of parked cars, I watch people getting out and now can guess pretty accurately if they’re going to be a door smasher or not. The worst demographic are older women, driving something old, cheap and dirty like a Kia Picanto. Young mums in those compact SUV things...

GR Yaris Motorway musings...is it just me?

Good guess but no, this was from a mobile camera van on a bridge over the A23 in Sussex, before I moved. They love their speed cameras, and speed bumps in Wales. But then with the way some of the Welsh drive I can see why. There seem to be two types of driver here, the 40 mph everywhere...

GR Yaris Powertune australia 740.9 hp

That’s getting on for 2023 F1 specific power output, they produce 830 bhp from 1.6 litres but at 15,000 rpm, and with twice the number of cylinders. Pretty impressive numbers from the G16E-GTS.

    GR86 GR86 goes <POP>

If this was a trackday or at the Nurburgring on a tourist day, nobody would expect Toyota to honour the engine warranty, so what’s the difference? The warranty specifically excludes any form of closed road competitive event. I’m not saying the engine isn’t a block of cheese that’s not fit for...

    GR Yaris 600bhp GR Yaris...

I spent £0.00 on grinding down the rear view mirror stalk. My only mod so far. I feel I have thrown down the gauntlet with that one. I can’t comprehend ever spending £100,000 on a £35,000 car though, but then I guess it’s no different to the people spending £300,000+ on a Porsche GT3 turning...

GR Yaris Motorway musings...is it just me?

I ALWAYS drive under the national speed limit. But, sometimes you just have to check that the motorway cameras are working. You know, for the safety of other road users. Stay safe out there.
