The middle part always get scrubbed/worn half when you get some speed on track. Looks more or less the same on all tires that are close to "streettires" in pattern.
Preassure looks spot on.👌🏻
I tried (a lot) more and less caster, diffrence is not noticeable and I ended up with just a bit more...
I didn't habe the problem on the GP Track when I was there so maybe its not only steering thats the problem? Wide spacers and other changes to the geometry makes a big impact on the Yaris.
My lap from GP track for reference:
And a slow lap on the real ring for comparison:
On the GP Track...
I know, tried 5 laps before ETAC 2021 and was bouncing all over the place. Very good at the GP circuit instead. Diffrent builds for diffrent purposes...
Would love to put on softer suspension and less aggressive wheel alignment and go for a few laps on the ring but not happening at the moment...
Finish is not my strongest lanuage (I only know kipis and makara) so you have to translate in that case...
Some of my customers regularly take their cup2r below 2 as it's a lot faster on lower pressures. But they dont last long when they do. .
Thats seems a bit on the low side but will give you good grip.
I always try to go out on at least 2.2 and then slowly build up heat and release enough to stay around 2.2 or there about.
Porsches and/or cars that works the tire even harder should aim for slightly higher pressures.
Sounds like a fun build.
The few times I had it was mostly during trailbraking. Definitely feels like the steering "locks up" but it's possible to steer with a lot of effort.
As my suspension is hard it's not a big diffrence to drive without arb. I needed better turn-in and less understeer so...
Cup2 are a really nice tire, be aware that they need pretty high pressure on track (2.4 cold and warm) and a gentle warmup so the don't delaminate. Soft rubber on the edges get quite warm fast and if the carcass is not as warm you will loose some big chunks of rubber.
Nowadays some modern...
Hi. I'm the one replied to 55parts on Youtube. I also have experienced this "feature" a few times and it's not pleasant.
This year I'm on street tires again and are not experienced it once. So probaly just the servo not keeping up on wide semis or under high loads in the corner. As mentioned...
I'm not sure what to think. On one side it sounds so cool that a smal three-cylinder can push +700hp but when they can't back up the numbers with for exampel a trapspeed I'm not impressed anymore.
Why bragging about big numbers but not being able to back it up?
Could it be that it's not...
When combined with camber it's the inner shoulder that takes the damage. In some extreme cases it's not even the tread but the inside of the tyre. If camber is "normal" it's more from the middle towards the inside that wears.
Toe-out normaly don't causes the outer shoulder to wear unless...
Thats some nice figures. 🏁
I also run Kelford cams and springs and on the same boost it made 40hp more so definitely needs more breathing. My redline is 7600 and now its making power all the way up there instead of running out of breath 1500 rpms earlier with the original stuff.
Next thing is...
I have searched for more info on that car aswell but can't find anything useful.
If I read the dynosheet correctly it goes to over 8000 rpms which indicates some aggressive cams and probably some headworks. Although this engine seems to be rather good flowing there is always room for...
