GR86 GR86 values at the end of 2025, are they worth it and what else can you get?

Guess many of us are in a similar position then. Renewal email sat in my inbox deciding what to do.

Theres nothing that interests me thats new, its all way too heavy, way too expensive, way too automatic gearbox. So im guessing the GR86 will stay with me. I dont fancy anything produced post 2010 that doesnt cost a fortune (Cayman, maybe?) and cant be arsed to run 15+ year old cars I haven't already owned.

I did get one awesome drive in it recently, 1am around some Cotswolds back roads, aside from avoiding pot holes large enough to consume the 86 entirely I remembered what an insane little thing it is on the right roads but these drives are rare as a nuisance baby and house renovation consumes most of my free time now.

But I dont think I can part with it.

Motorway estimate says £29400 for my 8100 mile car.

I’m still looking for the right NC MX-5. They come and go so quickly at the moment, really need to get my exhaust back to standard and get it gone via Motorway at this point.

Currently non-existent but another potential option would be any new version, if stuck to similar principles. Obviously there’s been chatter about possible options but this from today at least reads broadly positively, rwd, manual, light, good value, not massively different power but you’d assume the ’mild hybrid’ would be used to help fill in power/torque gaps next gen?

I think that's what we all chase. That one moment when all conditions are perfect and there's nothing like that feeling. These days it doesn't matter what you're in it's getting rarer. I've ridden my 765RS to work all week. Some days were deeply frustrating but randomly on a warm Wednesday afternoon home and today on a much colder morning it was bloody fantastic. No real reason why other than flow and being in tune with it.

The arrival of a Tesla company car if anything has bolstered my desire to keep the 86. It's a great mile-muncher, but there's no hiding the weight. Also, I'm a big fan of the electric powertrain for commuting but It's not exciting, despite the performance. I've made it very clear to my wife that I will not be selling my car

Paid mine off yesterday. I'm close to 65000 miles now and the plan is to either run it as my only car and go past the warranty threshold of 100000 around late 2027 / early 2028, or get a second car soon and split the mileage / keep the warranty for a bit longer. Either way, my plan is to keep it, look after it, but certainly 'well use' it until such a time as it is no longer viable.

Good man, take it you get dealer servicing every 10k then? Sitting at a sprightly 36k and loving it, depending on what happens with work I might start pushing much higher as well.

The car just does everything so well, that I'm not in any rush to sell. Nothing that tickles my fancy, but I do tend to stick to one car for a while. Although slowly pushing for more of a track setup (1 track done already this year, twice to knockhill in the next few weeks...)

Paid mine off today. I'm embarrassed to say that it's only got 8k miles on the clock. Out of curiosity i got a price from Motorway... £28k. It's holding it's value really well but i've no intention of selling. As others have said, for the money it's such a great car and there's nothing else i would want to buy.

Yep, I use SCC in Yeovil and they have been pretty good - no complaints here.

It's been a great car and I love driving it on A, B and country roads and don't mind it on dual carriageways and motorways for longer work related trips.

Likewise. Currently on 5k at the moment. I bought mine outright from the start. Well happy with the lack of depreciation.
