Good morning, coldest was -24 during the trip, someplaces in the country were -30 and more tonight, these are temperatures after a very rational drive, without having to overtake anyone as the road was empty, 6 kilometres of the trip were doing 50, rest was doing 100 kmh. This is as high as they got more or less, peak was 75 c for both upper.

Drove mine for first time today in a few days, -26 degrees celsius here when I woke up. Gearbox felt like treacle until I took it easy and got it up to a better operating temperature. Thankful for euro-spec heated steering wheel and seat today.

Staying in the area for a few days so nipped over to Caffeine & Machine as I’ve never been before. Used a tree to hide the white bits and think I got away with it.

I really like it, saw your post about how to finish it and I think removal of one other red section near the back so its a patchwork would also work. How was C&M midweek in the winter? I have only been on weekends and its quite nice on a crisp morning, but other weekends it's a bit empty.

Started the process of storing my car today. Meaning I bought a daily EV and parked the GR in my garage. Also wrote this post asking for your advice and knowledge on the subjekt of storage :)

Regarding storage of your GR. I'm in the UK , use my GR daily but have a classic car in storage. My classic is in a secure garage, no heating but I use moisture blocks in the garage. The battery stays on the car with a battery conditioning charger monitoring the batteries condition and providing the correct charge to keep the battery in good condition. I would recommend removing the battery conditioner every 7 to 10 days, run the engine , let the engine get up to temperature, move it back and forth. Don't engage the handbrake during storage use chokes if required and finally make sure your tyres are not in direct contact with concrete or a cold surface, this will help stopping getting flat spots on your tyres.
This is just my experience of having a car in storage. I'm sure other members on the forum will provide more advice on storage.

Bought a GRMN engine under tray from Japan. The plan is to add pillowball gear shift bushings and a powerflex gearbox mount insert then put the GRMN tray back on at the end in place of the OE item.

And took a photo in the dentist car park while it's still clean for 30 seconds.

It was VERY quiet, but it was mid afternoon on a weekday. It's a part of the country I'm rarely in though, so thought I'd pop in.

Once the weather gets drier and warmer, I'll have a go at peeling the wrap panel by panel. The lack of symmetry at the moment is killing me! The wrap has done its job for three and a half years now, so it's probably time it comes off anyway, but I'm sure it'll look quite fun in the inbetween stages.

Installed the GRMN rear seat delete. To do it clean requires cutting 8cm off of the rear cover, as it's too long where it covers the gap when the rear seats are folded forward. Holes are all blind, so no need to put bolts back in.

Seat Bottom: 4.5kg
Right Back: 6.8kg
Left Back: 4.8kg
Hardware: 1.5kg
Total: 17.6kg

GRMN Insert: 2.8kg

Haven't removed the shoulder belts yet.

I would be interested in how much this increases cabin noise.

I'll let you know, but I doubt it's anything as where the seat was is a big foam block.

I know you probably haven't tried, but is it more awkward carrying things in the back as the floor is no longer flat plus there's no seat to act as a barrier?

Just took it out for a spin.
Thanks to the chap in the Golf GTD that fancied a bit of a sprint!
Love the unspoken language of the carnut!

I've never carried anything in this car, as it's not a daily. But I've seen where people put up cargo nets between a rear strut bar and floor. Soon it'll be getting a rear cage, which will make things infinitely worse...lol
