We get a monthly flyer round the neighbourhood with a recent photo and a scratch 'n' sniff of the current after shave.Perhaps they were worried Sonic had moved into the neighbourhood![]()

Only because they'd have to compete with my perma-shine paintwork, 'blingy' wheels and constant fettling! Either that or they were flabberghasted to see 'Sonic' actually out on such a dreich day ...... perhaps they were worried Sonic had moved into the neighbourhood![]()
Mine was pretty shiny until approximately 3 million tons of salt was dumped on the M74 just south of Glasgow.Only because they'd have to compete with my perma-shine paintwork
Yup! Those 'cooncil weegies' just do it for sh*ts & giggles ...Mine was pretty shiny until approximately 3 million tons of salt was dumped on the M74 just south of Glasgow.

At my second service the dealership ticked the 'R' on the service sheet to say they had replaced it, but when I checked the keyfob I found the cheap battery inside that I'd put in a few months ago... Took them a week to drop-off a couple of new ones. Assume this is a task the service admin staff were supposed to do.staff changed the keyfob battery
That's crazy. Buying services as you go only costs £38/month over two years (i.e. both intermediate and full), even adding MOT it works out cheaper.Definitely makes sense with adding that sort of mileage to the vehicle,
For comparison my 3year fixed £34plan has now gone up to £55/month!
My struggle at the min is with such low mileage, I get to enjoy it when I get free time but also serves as an emergency fund, I hope I never need to sell it but I need to keep the option open. I can't see many people opting to purchase a low mileage example without the warranty so i'm forced into being robbed by the service department.
At least these main dealers are consistent...*3rd service carried out today. Specifically asked for diff oil to be done as well as missed on second service.
Collected car, was told “diff oil isn’t on the invoice, but it definitely has been done this time”.
Asked for something in writing saying it’s been done, as according to the paperwork I now have it hasn’t been done in 3 years.
“Manager is back on Monday who can sort that for you”.
Well, fair play to the dealership. They emailed through the updated invoice this morning without any reminding from me.3rd service carried out today. Specifically asked for diff oil to be done as well as missed on second service.

The only thing I found with the 3D mats is that they are not quite as robust as I'd like, especially with dirty heeled shoes etc. I added a set of cheap-as-chips generic rubber mats to act as sacrificial inserts, as can be seen from my (2024*) post here.Fitted some new all weather mats.
They feel more robust than the OEM mats, and I haven't really had any wear problems with those, so I hope they'll be okay. The only thing I found with the 3D mats is that they are not quite as robust as I'd like, especially with dirty heeled shoes etc. I added a set of cheap-as-chips generic rubber mats to act as sacrificial inserts, as can be seen from my (2024*) post here.

I would have probably laughed until some peepee came out had I been witness to this event .....Upon reaching the door the ice promptly gave way, resulting in my feet being submerged in a good 3-4 inches of freezing water.
Thankfully I was wearing trainers rather than my posh business footwear which was in the boot, so I can sort of see the funny side...I would have probably laughed until some peepee came out had I been witness to this event ...![]()
Did you at least manage to make the most of the weather to do some skids or something?Thankfully I was wearing trainers rather than my posh business footwear which was in the boot, so I can sort of see the funny side...
