I had a set of aluminium caps on an Aygo a few years ago. When I needed a new tyre the valves were fully seized. Guy at the tyre place did his best but ended up breaking one of the valves getting the cap off. I only opt for plastic or at least plastic inner threaded ones.
Went for a drive and a quick wash. Fitted some GR/Aisin door stabalisers. Doors still seat same as stock but are more solid and close with a more expensive sounding "THUNK".
At least another 5hp :P
I may be wrong but I'm sure I read on the US forums it's best to start when the engine is a little warm (not hot) as it makes the hose pipe more pliable to remove.
There is RTV when you remove it but every guide I've seen has used tape on the thread as a sealant.
It's fairly easy so long as you're mindful of positioning and the clockspring. My new wheel went on exactly the same as the previous one. I know one person who broke their clock spring but they removed the whole wheel for one without an airbag.
I still need to get the tie rods adjusted as my...
Fitted some Suma heated side mirrors. I tried to be as careful as possible but one of the connectors on one OEM mirror had a dab of glue... Ripped the connector mirror side. A minor problem to deal with if I return it to stock. The extra angle is nice but the main benefit is the anti-glare when...
Didn't see this. I'm fairly certain after changing the car is smoother in lower RPMs, namely idling.
Once the pipe is off it's a really quick job. Honestly, it does feel like Toyota take the p*** a bit. Makes me think after 5 years I might forget the extended warranty and look at FI with...
Had the door cards off and put felt washers on for the window. Put a set of Focal IS Toy 165 in and some sound deadening.
Then another package arrived. Put some matte carbon fiber over the middle console as it was scratched something silly and put some covers on the kiddo seat poppers under the...
Bit of condensation on my phone I think. It's more opening-helicopter-scene-from-Predator in-person đŸ˜…
I can't deny it's bordering obnoxious but there's something that tickles me about a black car glowing red. Besides, I'm a musician, I love a bit of showboating.
Now to pick between black or...
I need to get a photo but swapped the map lights out for red LEDs. A bit cheesy but there's something cool about a black car glowing red at night when it detects the keyfob before unlocking. Might swap the puddle and boot lights for red too. Demon car.
Also put in some Axis door hinge covers...
Do you have much tracking experience? I've done a few track days myself and have days' worth of Assetto Corsa time on Nords but I personally would be inclined to either rent a car for it or ride along. I'm not prepared to lose my 86.
Then again, I'm overly cautious. Just my 5p.
