totally true, and seems to be a global thing. The good side of it is the "Yaris" does not necessarily take all the attention which can be very nice in many waysSomewhat Off topic but I just read about the pricing announcement on a mainstream site/forum. Reading the comments, it’s quite interesting to see how many people can’t get past the name (“not paying that for a Yaris”) and/or also how many don’t know what the GR really is under the skin. Eg one comment said that a Lexus at 60k would surely not be that different to the Yaris in performance
Point of this post being that this site is such a niche word full of information, and you forget how little the wider world seems to know about these cars. Which explains lots of the tailgating and lack of interest when people walk past (even within the wider car community, which I find crazy).
So in the early days there was 400 suggested then the rumour changed to 300 then 200. I’d be shocked if Italy get a larger allocation than the UK considering mk1 sales.Does anyone have a hint about UK allocations?
I see the press release doesn't mention any exact number.
Something like the 500 cars in Italy, maybe?
The big thing I’ve noticed is just how many people on motoring websites don’t have a clue about the current market. All the people shocked that a car has increased in price in line (or thereabouts) with inflation.Somewhat Off topic but I just read about the pricing announcement on a mainstream site/forum. I love understatement cars.totally true, and seems to be a global thing. The good side of it is the "Yaris" does not necessarily take all the attention which can be very nice in many ways![]()
All good thingsI love understatement cars.
Underpromise - Overdeliver.
Among other features, also keeps the theft rate low.
I agree. The UK currently has the largest allocation for the mk1 in Europe I believe? I think the mk2 will be the same.So in the early days there was 400 suggested then the rumour changed to 300 then 200. I’d be shocked if Italy get a larger allocation than the UK considering mk1 sales.
2025 allocation (if at all) will not be confirmed til January.Looking at the Honda type R they are not holding their value that well so we can expect the GR to depreciate and probably settle around £39995 after a few months as we will see a bigger allocation in 2025. Interest rates will be lower in 2025 so finance costs will be less. If you need to buy on finance I’d be inclined to wait 12 months.
Likewise, I'm surprised how llittle people know what rally even is nowadays, and if they know it's some kind of distant memory. It's near invisible today, and then they wouldn't know a world champion manufacturer and model either of course..., and you forget how little the wider world seems to know about these cars.

My best guess will be about 1000 for the uk initially, which will sell out immediately.Does anyone have a hint about UK allocations?

I’d seen a review where it notes the badge isn’t there anymore. What I really what to know is has this mk2 got the "Developed for world rally" badge?
Any confirmed pics?
Actually looks like it does on carwow vid.
