GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

Hi Matt, bit of an update on the Spec 2.
The mechanic who installed it said that it went on easily and that it didn’t need any adjustments or tweaking.
Noise wise, I would say that it’s very similar in normal use to the standard system with the artificial noise generator activated.
Cold start is louder, slightly louder at 2-3 k revs when accelerating gently; No drone on steady throttle at 70.
Nicer ‘rasp’ when pushing on.
Saved 4.85kg from the stock system.
All in all, very pleased with it
Thanks for that. Defo considering this.

Any pictures to share? Did you purchase via Fensport?

You mention no drone on steady throttle at 70, but does it occur elsewhere, on deceleration etc?

Had to be done with the Poundland Aston

Yes, bought from Fensport.
Not many pictures yet sorry.
On the first journey back after fitting, with the rear seat down, I thought it was a bit ‘boomy’ at around 2k revs at slow speed in built up areas. But after that I’ve not noticed any drone.
Very pleased with it, but I was not after a ‘louder’ exhaust. From the driver seat, it’s very similar to the noise level when I had the sound generator connected, but nicer!

Nice looking and well balanced pipes. Welcome to the 'OEM+ Zorsts Club'*

*There isn't one of course as I just made it up.

Washed my car for the first time in a month, it was filthy but I just didn’t have the time or weather to do it before today. Tried out using snow foam for the first time - it doesn’t perform miracles, but does make the whole process a bit easier and I think it actually saved me a bit of time.

Went to a Car Meet at Hub71 in Glenrothes. Spoke to a nice family and the owner of Hub71 but, other than that was generally ghosted by the FB group that I had made an effort to meet and introduce myself to. I'm thinking it's probably because I was well dressed, driving a gleaming Sports car and spoke with an English accent, whereas they were mostly driving massive-winged 4pot, sticker-covered shit boxes and shared 32 teeth between them ... I'll give it a number of weeks before I leave the group so that I don't go upsetting the rednecks and get chibbed* at the next car show.

Hi all has anyone direct experience of the HKS and the resonated Miltek exhausts. I would like to improve the sound. However don’t want it to be any noiser at a motorway cruise as it’s a daily. Cost of the HKS is a bit saucy so don’t want to get it wrong

Fife, simple.

Was across to Skidz (Falkirk) today to have a new set of wheels, tyres and TPMS fitted:
BOLA super light series, type FLE 18” x 8”, in Hyper-Black, 5x100pcd, ET42. Wrapped in 225/40R18 Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6. For information, it took 20 minutes and around 13 miles for the new TPMS to give a readout on the dashboard.

Edit: I've just noticed in the photo that the rear wheel looks to be at a jaunty 'Ricer' angle - it isn't, it must be an effect from zooming out on my iPhone to get the whole shop front and car in.
That said, I've got a full Geometry check and 4 wheel alignment booked with Pro-Grip (Larbert) on April 16th, which was their first available slot!

Big fan of those, thats a lovely setup Sonic, would you mind sharing some more photos at different angles?

When unboxed, they looked really bright/silver under the showroom lights. When fitted to the car and outside under a grey overcast sky, they seemed to appear almost black in the centre. I'm guessing that Bola's 'Hyper-Black' is their version of others 'Shadow Chrome'. I reckon that when the sun is out (and they're clean) they'll gleam! Price was £860 for the set to get these in Hyper-Black, other colours are a bit cheaper.
You can see the black tint as you move around them (more apparent in the centre as previously stated), which I've tried to capture below. I think they look okay even with the (tiny) OEM painted calipers:

Probably the best I can do with the current weather. Excuse the state of the wheels etc., the 40 minute drive back home on a wet and dirty motorway doesn't make for the most glamorous of photos. I haven't even had chance to buff the new tyres! The F1 Asy6 seem to have a healthy rim protector too, which is always a bonus.
