GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

I think that as time goes by the majority of us with a MK1 will realise we don't actually need to pay £15k+ for the new one.
All we need to do is look after our current car really well and it will be a fabulous car for many years and that first car will always be the special one and when its gone its gone - so don't jump and order the new one without putting a lot of thought into it.
Me, I was thinking I would wait till a 500hp awd electric version comes out in maybe 5-8 years but then I watched this video by a chap who trains first responders about the dangers ov EVs.

Definitely make sure you’re 100% before you jump ship. Sellers regret sucks.

Also if all you mk1 owners don’t order it’ll give me more chance to get one 😂

I take it back, it looks cool/hardcore, just need a drift button to make it 100% intuitive

funnily enough - using hand brake in traffic results 100% fines.
Wonder how it works with manual shifter, it could be abit in a way in some situations but likely you would get used with it.

I've watched that video before and when he talks about the dash he kind of implies that Toyota may make the dash different? Have I understood that wrong?

Don't think I've seen this discussed - do we know which tyres the Mk2 will be delivered with?

Reading the comments on the ISA does this mean that the MK1 will always stay as it is - ie. my Toyota garage can't change it to the new ISA system one day when it goes in for a service without telling me. I assume that system needs new/different hardware along with software which my car doesn't have. In my eyes, it is my property so they can't add/change things without my permision.
If this is the case then I can see me keeping the MK1 as long as possible.
My daily can have this new system on and I may even welcome it as we have a lot of mobile speed cameras catching thousands in my area in very sneaky places.
I have no problem with what many describe ISA as on a daily car but on the GRY - no thank you.
I do think people need to think carefully why they love the GRY before they jump and order the new slightly improved version.
Also, will MK2 be an homologation special as per MK1 as this will mean a lot to many of us.

Toyota UK mag mentions:
225/40 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres
and
The website reads a bit like the UK is only getting autos!
Six-speed iMT or eight-speed Gazoo Racing direct automatic transmission
The photos published on that "mag" haven't always been to UK spec, but I would assume the technical specifications are.

Thanks @Spirited - I was wondering if Michelin might've used this as an excuse to bring out the PS5S in our sizes.

Either way, good to see they're sticking with a decent known quantity in the PS4S

Of course ten years ago if you were told every car would nag you to death with speeding, and recorded everywhere you went that'd be catastrophising too I'd imagine.

At a certain point it's just predicting the inevitable.

If you think this won't end in per mile road pricing, and speeding tickets being issued automatically for ignoring ISA...

The bit in bold without anything else is fine by me. I pay too much VED for the very few miles I do in my classic car (less than 1000 miles) and GR86 (circa 5K)

If someone would like to start a thread about ISA and other similar 'safety' systems then go ahead and I'll move the posts over.

As @corroded has said, let's move on - and wait and see what system Toyota introduces on the new car.

Watching this makes you like the hand break I'd say..:)
But what will it be like with a manual stick there ?

Seems the plastic material on the new dash will play a big role in how it's received, apart from the design of course. It's such a big plain surface which your not used to in cars normally

Yep. It would be great if you could get hold of them. I couldn’t source any PS4S in UK. Possibly available in 8-10 weeks! Based on recent reviews I opted for Continental SportContact 7 as an alternative.
