GR Yaris Best Value mods for performance gains

if you don't want to drop the engine down from the bay (which will take more effort, but give you more room to work), essentially it needs to be stripped down as such:

springs can be changed without removing the head by pumping compressed air into the cylinder to keep the valves from dropping.

then "just" reinstall everything back - implies making sure timing is properly dialed in, etc etc. also some gaskets should be replaced to avoid leaks - at least high pressure pump, valve cover, and vacuum pump.

One important thing, if not dropping the engine, be very careful when refitting back components (especially in tight areas, such as when refitting the timing covers, as they're relatively brittle if not handled properly). take your time to put things back together correctly, and follow the fricken service manuals on how to do it properly. don't rush things or you'll be in a world of trouble.
Can we get this done at a Toyota dealership?😂🚗💨

MW Steel built custom Downpipe. looks mega.. is it normal getting excited looking at 4'' pipe?

Not only did I get excited, I also got horny. Is this normal, too?

Loving your valve spring tool, what make is it? Also does anyone have a link to the workshop manual.

I‘m also very interested in that tool. 😁

Not an expert but saw also small rope being used to avoid valves from dropping. Would be interesting task to do though as my car is my only car likely too big of a risk to F U things if problems occur.

There was a good video of home made valve spring job that ended with issue with VVT sensor/solenoid so there is surely many things that can go wrong

We just pressurize the Cylinder through the Spark Plug hole.
Which prevents the valves from falling in.

just be careful not to let the crank move when pressurizing the cylinder (with a loose chain).
Found out that the previous shop who was working on my car did that and well.. let's just say I ended up with a chunk of aluminium in my oil pan (broke off the timing cover)...
