GR Yaris How to activate radiator fan earlier to combat heat soak?

Just an idea I have, I really dislike the heatsoak from being stationary and I've already done a range of cooling mods but they work mostly when on the move. Apart from hood vents, one fairly basic (in principle at least) mod left on the table is activating the radiator fan much earlier, sending flow and thus cooling the engine bay when stationary. Similar idea to having a thermostat that opens earlier. Anyone has any idea how to do this?

I imagine its triggered by a canbus signal, can this be hacked/modified? Preferably activate when IAT goes over say 30°C or so (basically as soon as stationery during summer ambients).

If not, is there a way to hardwire and bypass this and perhaps manually activate the fan earlier?

Don't see any immediate big downsides, but please remind me if you think of something....

In the old days we used to wire a on/off switch directly to the fans and operate it from the dashboard.

really interested in this topic... I tend to push the AC button in order to force some air circulation. But it somewhat defeats the purpose - since it pumps more heat to the condenser /front radiator...

PS: my S1000 bike suffers of the same at slows speeds (good excuse for speeding..??!) and I end-up installing a switch (incl. relay) that I can push everytime I see the temperatures creeping up. Unlike the GRY, the bike temperature gauge is accurate... so it can be clearly seen the coolant temps ranging from a stable 78 deg C while at open road... all the way to 106 deg C(!!) at slow speeds /city driving.

Another heat hack is to let the heater blow max hot air on the vacant passenger side with an open window. But not exactly practical, only used it on cars on the brink of overheating/limping

Sometimes it doesn’t need to be practical….

That's why I'm looking into vented bonnet for next year, got a feeling it could be one of the most helpful thermal mods for GRY.
Next time I take my daughter to Gardaland fun park, daddy's gonna play in Scara73 garage few miles away!
