Not lost the chance fella, white or black is the problemWhen i see the side profile it makes me feel that i should have got the duck bill spoiler.
2022 BMW 230i. Quite a difficult decision as I liked the BMW. But for looks I think the GR86 beats it. Also great to drive a manual again.Nice and clean.
Which BMW did you sell for it out of interest?
Maybe. I am still on the fence whether it looks better with it or not. At certain angles with the duck bill spoiler it looks like the boots open heheWhen i see the side profile it makes me feel that i should have got the duck bill spoiler.
Was that the new shape? I've gone from an M2 Comp and I am enjoying the Toyota more, although it's still early days (still running in).2022 BMW 230i. Quite a difficult decision as I liked the BMW. But for looks I think the GR86 beats it. Also great to drive a manual again.
That’s interesting, am doing the same and wondering if will miss the outright pace of the M2. What are you enjoying most about it?Was that the new shape? I've gone from an M2 Comp and I am enjoying the Toyota more, although it's still early days (still running in).
Yep new shape. I liked it to drive and it was quick enough but I always thought it was just a bit too big to call a sports coupe. More like a GT car.Was that the new shape? I've gone from an M2 Comp and I am enjoying the Toyota more, although it's still early days (still running in).
The weight or lack thereof is very much evident, making it feel nimble and fun to drive. The steering is nicely weighted and the gearbox is rock solid. It remind me very much of the MR2 AW11 I have sadly just parted company with. That’s interesting, am doing the same and wondering if will miss the outright pace of the M2. Glasgow, and it's our one.can you reveal where that photo was taken? I’m waiting on an ice silver but the ducktail is delayed till 10/10
Thanks for the reply, good to hear. I enjoyed the relatively short test drive in the GR and while it’s nowhere near the power of the M2, it’s nowhere the weight either, which was very evident as you say. And to be honest, being In Wales the chances of getting out of 2nd nowadays are practically non-existent anywayThe weight or lack thereof is very much evident, making it feel nimble and fun to drive. Another positive and the best one for me is the feedback you get from the chassis. You feel everything that is going on beneath you through those engaging seats.
As cars get more and more software, become physically larger and naturally heavier, they have to have larger engines and I think it's all going in the wrong direction. You are too cosseted inside, so much so that one is too far removed from the actual driving experience.
I still have the BM, which handles superbly, has a brilliant engine and chassis and is more practical as a family car, but as things stand I'm very happy with my decision.
Had a couple of ‘m-lites’, great all round cars for daily use. But yes, you needed to be aware if pushing them. The M2 is a noticeable step up as you’d expect, in the handling primarily.I know it’s not an M2 but the M410i I owned is not missed one bit. It was rapid but very numb and in the wrong conditions quite dangerous.
The GR86 is much more controlled, inspiring and fun to drive at pace.
When do you collect?Glimmer of hope
I would be interested in that! Just passed 1700 miles and loving every minute! When do you collect?
Would be good if a Scottish meet/run could be arranged, next spring when the weather changes and all the new owners have their cars run-in.
