GR86 GR86 Gear Knob Thread

The satisfaction I now get from playing with my knob is very very high. It's a joy to use. It did take a week or so to get used to its size, especially the girth but now I just can't go back!

Hopefully will have purchase info in the next week or so plus more info on a 2nd option which is more circular.

On my wish list, but sold out. Was it a straight swap? How does it compare in use - titanium so lighter? Any effect on the shift feel?

It does say sold out on their website, but I think they've just had a delivery and are going through their backorders before letting everyone know they are back in stock. I ordered mine about a month ago. If you contact they they are very helpful.

It's a straight swap, just unscrew the old one and screw on the new one. Fits perfectly and weight is about 50g more than the original. I've not had a chance to take the car out today, so no feedback on usage, but I had the tall teardrop on my last car so I know it's good

My previous one did get a little warm to the touch in this weather, so I used to put a microfibre cloth over it. Same in winter when it gets cold.

Yes… it’s another Billetworkz knob! But with the Raceseng reverse lockout as well. No more plastic!

Yeah pretty easy. You will need circlip pliers though. There’s a YouTube video that takes you through the install here

It is indeed, well spotted! Easy to install. The handbrake boot on the other hand requires a bit more work and lots of glue…

Only thing I've found with the Billetworkz is it's on and will be tough to get off. May have to try some nitrile gloves for more grip.
