You're right, you have to disable keyless entry on the fob and then you can just keep them in the car.

It's also probably worthwhile having set up so if you were to ever lose your keys when you're out you could still get inside to grab belongings or wait for somebody to bring your spare set.

There's a good video that shows what you need to do here, as you also have to manually lock the doors by the switch on the interior handle:

This must be useful if you want to go swimming in the sea or the go to the gym without risking leaving the keys in a locker.

I do neither of these things but if there's a way to lock my keys in the car then I'll do it so I should set up the code.
