How many miles are you on now?Well, in the last week my car has been put to good use. One School Prom last week and another one today. Plus another 1000 miles or so on my travels. Birmingham, Kettering, Peterborough....
I go to all the nice places.

I guess it's partly due to getting used to it and partly due to everything bedding in, etc. But I was just thinking the other day on a drive across country with a pre-facelift silver gt86 following behind me that this thing is just so good covering ground at a decent pace. I'm loving the gearbox, clutch, steering, brakes, suspension.... I just feel completely at one with the car, it really is confidence inspiring on a fast road drive. How it moves around underneath me and the feel that I get from the road surface / conditions. That part of my drive was here:
It's a cut through between the A34 and A303. It's the A343 and then Mays Down Lane going southbound and well worth searching out in an effort to cut out some of the boring dual carriageway. It has some great fast and slow corners and up / down hill sections, with good visibility of what's coming and not too busy. And all the better now the pot holes have been filled.

I would absolutely love to. I’m at that point in life where I seem to have no spare time. I work in London so commute via train. I have two young kids that want to spend all their time with me, and I’m constantly reminded to enjoy it while it lasts. My parents and my in-laws are in their 70’s and relying more on my wife and I for all aspects of life.
I love my GR86 but constantly questioning myself on if I need it. Hence I’ve posted on marketplace that I would consider selling it.

It's a shame, but I know the feeling, as it's pretty much the same reason that I sold my Integrale Evo 2. I could have / should have kept it, but didn't.

Wow, that’s an amazing car and I can imagine regretting that.
It’s a tough call. It’s basically a driveway ornament at the moment. That being said I have the best looking driveway around. Given mortgage rates etc it’s getting harder to justify the monthly outlay though.

I think learning the car more has been the biggest difference. Its difficult to explain, but like the clutch - a few haven't been happy with it and whilst it's never bothered me, I did have the odd time when I didn't pull away very smoothly. But now whether muscle memory has something to do with it, or whether it's bedded in with the miles, it's great and I have no problems. I certainly wouldn't want to / feel the need to modify it.Sounds like a lot of fun

The engine, well I progressively increased the rpm whilst running it over the first 1000 miles, so felt more power as these early miles went by. But after that and after opening it up fully, I can't say that it's got more powerful after 5k, 10k, etc. I don't feel it, but again it's not and is never going to be 'neck snapingly' fast. But it does feel very fast, at least in real road driving / ground covering ability for what you can realistically do on public roads.
I think it used about 0.5-1 litre of oil over the first 10k, but since having it serviced at 10k, it hasn't lost anymore. Overall, it still feels tight mechanically and well put together it's not getting old and baggy yet.

Yep, it can be a hard decision, but if your mind is made up, then go with your decision. It's not like you will never be able to get one again if you really wanted to and I might have a leggy 100k miler that you'll be interested in.

I've said that the Track mode button is the NPC spawn button. Push it on a nice road and they seem to spawn in.Discovered mine has the grand theft auto option pack installed. Mine has the always on feature doesn’t seem to matter that I’ve not hit the track or traction off buttons either (I’m only 700 miles on on the run in process at present) they still appear.
That said I’ve thankfully avoided a
️️️️️ wanted level and had a lucky escape narrowly avoiding a juvenile muntjac that popped out of an overgrown hedgerow so it’s not all bad.

That spot on how i feel about my car on 8.5k and it really has seemed to loosen up nicely. Not had any issues with it once had to add a Small amount of oil and that it. I know it sounds corny but I really do feel at one with it and have never had an issues with the clutch. I can’t think of anything I would mod on it. It amazes me. That people a swapping out the stock suspension because it’s so well suited to uk road. By the way on your detour down to Andover there are nice roads if you kept going south through Stockbridge and Romsey and come back on the M27 at Ower . Looking at your location seems a good route back towards home. I am based in Romsey and lucky enough to have to drive out through Alton and across the south down around Midhurst for work couple time a week. Clocked up 150 miles Thursday on blinding road and I am getting paid for my time and fuel . Rerun coming up this Thursday . I have an M135 for the day Tuesday so that will be interesting to compare much faster of course but more fun.? I doubt itI think learning the car more has been the biggest difference. Yep, I often use the A30 from Salisbury to Stockbridge and beyond to get onto the A34 or M3 instead of the A303. It's a lovely road at 6'ish in the morning with hardly any other traffic. Mostly long and straight, which could be considered boring, but it isn’t. With some nice bends along yhe way, it's fun and very relaxing.
I've also used the roads you mention going down to Romsey and yes, very nice with some great parts of the Test river and villages to stop at along the way.
Try the A272 Goodwood to Winchester that's a great road in a Fiesta ST I guess even better in the GR.
