Styling is clumsy to say the least….

Aside from the suspension and brake package there’s nothing appealing at all! The cosmetic changes and naming feels more than a little cynical and the external theme does not work with the shape of a modern car.

I agree. Would like to know how much the Sachs and Brembos would be but I'm guessing silly money
 
Apparently there's going to be 860 of them. That's more than our total allocation. Also the manual even gets adaptive cruise in the US. The performance pack in the US at least is a retrofit option. Doubt we'd see that here though

umm you have the performance pack upgrade - Brembo Brakes and the Sachs Damper.

I guess it will be the same Brembo brakes kit as the GT86 Blue edition Performance Pack which I personally think it is really good comparing to the OEM little Brakes.
 
I wonder if the performance pack is only a US thing, I doubt we will get it over here to retrofit as some video are saying you are able to retro fit them to an exisiting car.

If it's much cheaper than a set of Essex brake + coilover, might be a good value choice if you are happy with stockish suspension on the car
 
Very few cars look decent with any kind of graphics on. This is no exception...
 
I like the fact that the parts will be available. Be interesting to see how much the Brembo brakes are. Not that I have found the OEM ones lacking.

The extra security features on the manual is a big change. I wonder if it has remote start like the Autos have in the states?
 
Will the Brembo will be cheaper than the £4k GR mono block brake upgrade package?

Not likely, anything bought retrospectively seems to cost so much more than if it was bought with the car.

I'd agree on the strength of the standard brakes. Twice on country lanes I've had to make a sharp stop once when confronted around a bend by a wide tracker and another time turning left into a side road only to be confronted by a lorry coming to the junction and using my side to prepare for a wider left turn. Both times an amazingly well handled stop.

It’s the aesthetic of the stock brakes I find lacking rather than the performance. The car is likely a keeper for me and the stock callipers already look a bit cheap despite being fresh and new things will only get worse as the car ages and they corrode.

Yes totally agree, the car mine replaced had gloss red calipers and they looked the same 7 years from new but already find cleaning the GR86 ones is not easy
 
When I first saw this, I thought no! But just watching Raiti's Rides video on it and it's okay, decals are a bit too much for me though. I'd say fill your boots and go for it if you like it (America only of course). And for us Brits, I doubt we will get the performance pack, but there are plenty of options from the likes of Fensport and the list of aftermarket options will only get bigger, although a factory option would have been a nice to have. 🙄
