GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

For those of you who have received your cars, how long was the process after the car arrived at the dealership?

Mine arrived Monday and they are aiming to have it ready for Monday next week but the online team don’t seem to find that realistic… almost like it’s a surprise after a year that they need to do something 🤣

I thought this would be the easy part!!!
Mine arrived at the dealers end of April and still don't have it yet - utter and complete shambles!!! TUK managed to 'misplace' £25k of my money for 3 weeks then had the gall to phone to bollock me and say I was holding up the process. Sorted that, spoiler fitted and off to detailers who found stone chips on the boot edge and a large gouge in the boot lid where the spoiler fitted. Back to the body shop to get that done, detailer understandably now can't get me back in until beginning of July and dealer trying to say the detailer did it on the drive to his workshop. Utter and complete farce - I will never, ever, buy another Toyota while I have breath 😡

Sorry - just unloading!!

That is ridiculous!
I would be shouting that from the roof.
live been pretty shocked by their behaviour but mine is nothing to that.
Hope you get it all sorted soon!

It's really been shocking. Getting a phone call when I'm away on holiday telling me they're not going to release the car for the handover date as I've not paid up or filled in the driveaway insurance details, when they've had both for 3 weeks with the correct notice of both being sent to them via the portal as requested is frankly a disgrace. If I didn't want the car as much as I do I'd be advising them which of their corporate orifices they can shove it up.

And don't worry, once I've got the car off them and it's safe in my hands there's a social media maelstrom heading their way!!

Look at what’s finally arrived! Worth the wait though

Want to focus on the positives BUT I’ve got to be honest and I have to say that collecting the most expensive car I’ve ever bought was a let down. My wife and I have been lucky enough to buy a fair few over the years and this ranks firmly in last place.

It wasn’t ready for us even though we called to say we would be an hour late. They didn’t even have to prep it.

No handover gift that I’ve read about on here or that I’ve received with other new car purchases. Not even a bloody key ring.

The young salesman that dealt with the handover was perfectly pleasant but utterly clueless. I’d also maybe have expected the dealership manager to make an appearance. Thanks for choosing Toyota hope to see you back for servicing etc. but no.

I was asked as part of handover for a rating of the process. I said 7 out of feeling bad for the wee sales guy that was doing his best. More like a 4.

But it’s home which is the main thing. Here’s to a clear road ahead and many happy road trips!

I honestly wish that surprised me…

This is my fourth Toyota in a row, likely the last. As you say if it wasn’t for the fact this is such a perfect car I would of thrown the towel in a long time ago.

Looks beautiful!
Enjoy the car, hoping to get mine released soon

Ship ahoy!!!! My car is on this one!!!
The 'Morning Conductor' just rounding Lands End. Just down the road from me....should have asked if they could drop it ashore for me, it'll save all that messing around going up to Derby and back again!! 😆
She gets into Portbury tomorrow morning 3am.

And in the countryside ... didn't attract much attention !View attachment 17394
Very nice... whilst I have electric blue the black does look quality. I'm 4 weeks in, almost 1k miles and despite the long-wait and unsavoury dealership experiences (thankfully I didn't) the car is getting better and better! @Collie68 the best is yet to come!

Congrats on the collection - the handover will become a distant memory as you start to use the car! (y)

A while back if you contacted Toyota Online they would send out the bamboo box and Issho teddy, might be worth contacting them to see if they still have stock.

Congrats - looks lovely in black, and haven't seen too many in that colour. They are a pain to keep clean though, which always puts me off black cars!

I have only seen one other on the road and that was a black one. And yes black is a part time job not a colour. Seen 2 cars posted on here recently with very similar plates to mine (end letter is different) inc the one above.

I can only imagine how hot yours must be in the sun, I have EB and it gets incredibly hot when you first get in it if it has been sitting in the sun even for a short while.
