GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

Had me a little drive and wandered past the place I got my safety check done by and remembered they had that GR86 demonstrator. Didn't have long as they were closing.

Was a nice blue one, only had 20 mins... It's quite nice on the twisties and surprisingly lively, but I didn't get The Fizz the same way I did in the Yaris. I liked but didn't love it. Slightly disappointed, I guess.

I know I'm biased as I own a GR (with a tiny little scratch on the bumper plastics as it turned out, overgrowing bushes and narrow roads, and a surprise HGV)
Funny isn't it; sometimes I find my GR to be the greatest car on the planet and at other times utterly mundane. In essence, this is probably the beauty of it? I have had equally as much fun driving a Cinquecento with 40bhp as I have driving a Porsche with 300+ bhp (or any other car for that matter).

It's the 1% that don't that is the problem and confirmed in their dangerous behavior. Many GR enthusiasts are also cyclists.... As if that should matter, roads are for all people regardless of what form of transportation they chose for the day.

Categorising people never is a good idea, that includes putting everyone on a bicycle in the same.

I'm sorry I even have to write this, but unfortunately there are too many reasons...
agree 100%, cannot understand "the anger" for bicyclists. If you are not able to safely overtake a cyclist then recommend taking a few driving lessons.
BTW had to overtake car few times with bike as they were driving too slowly on a gravel road. . . ;)

Wow, sorry for not replying sooner but I've been out on my Bye - sickle . I can only apologise for my bad humour . If I've offended anyone, I can only hope you don't attend my next gig. It's a stand up show where I basically look at life and see the funny side.

Sorry

There are often occasions on country roads near me where cyclists ride inappropriately. Four-abreast, not allowing a bit of space on a straighter bit of road where a car can easily pass (making it safer for all parties), or will even ride towards me in the middle of the road.

The majority are fine, some are arse holes. Same goes for car drivers, pedestrians, runners, etc...

I had my first PCS event today with the full apply the brakes. A pedestrian took one step backwards and it dropped an anchor. Totally unnecessarily

If it's going to do that I really don't trust it.

I have serious issues every time I forget to turn it off, not calibrated for my local traffic (if you leave more than a car length space, someone will jump in it), and it goes crazy in narrow streets with parked cars on the side.

Yey, summer tyres are finally on! And those TC105X look better than on photos, very happy!
Did the geo check, only minor adjustments needed (last geo done before winter) - front toe correction.
Gonna take it for a drive in the afternoon, pay a visit to my mechanic to make him swap the gearshift bushings asap :)

Took my daughter to BikePark Wales yesterday. Felt very cool rocking up in the Yaris amongst all the vans and SUVs with bike racks. Until I had to take all the bits out and assemble them in the car park.😂

It was actually very easy and got two mtbs and all the clobber in there no probs. So nice to ride the bike away from all the inconsiderate fat wankers in cars too. 👍

Had its second service, and bought the Brodit phone holder that everyone seems to have. No more just leaving it in the cupholders!

Only I didn't check and the bloody thing needs the phone case removed to fit in it. I should've bought the one that accommodates that, apparently. Another 30 bucks

It does fit in nicely though.

I felt the same, ie that everyone seems to go Brodit and rate it highly.

But I failed to get how it works if you need to place different (size) phones on it, eg because of different family members using the car, changing a phone or a phone case, etc. Or if you want to remove it from the car or change the point where it attaches to the car.

Then, for a small fortune, I found this:

I've had my tail between my legs since posting about cyclists. So today I have added a modification to my car and NO it's not cow bars. I've put a pot of vaseline in the glove box. If I see a cyclist suffering from nipple rub or chaffing in the saddle regions , I can stop and let them have a finger full to help relieve their suffering.
I hope, I've now made peace with all the cyclists out there

The chafe is real ;)

But good you got a little food for thought, the jargon against other road users can be very hard is some car 'culture' settings and that is problematic and the only way to break that is to speak up and risk looking like a spoilsport.
Out there the road rage is real and frankly very scary when someone is threathening your life with a deadly weapon (as it is rightly categorised in the US).

Again it shouldn't matter, but plenty of car enthusiast also enjoy cycling, I know many and many motorsport pros keep fit cycling too while navigating real roads.

Hear hear. Some of the most committed petrolheads I know are also avid cyclists. It costs literally nothing to show other road users courtesy and patience, whether they’re on two feet, two wheels, four wheels, or whatever.

At the end of the day, we all just want to get to where we are going efficiently and in one piece so we can see our loved ones. Not too much to ask, I think.

Very near me are a couple of ranges, one has a one way up gravel road. Reasonably wide but less than 2 cars worth, relatively smooth and 100% fun. I was driving it somewhat enthusiastically with a mate on board and mid blind corner where none of the wheels were pointing in the same direction as the road I encountered a roadie heading down in the middle of the road. I slid to a stop and he rode past. Half a hand off the bars in a nervous wave. I ride mountain bikes and avoid roads where possible but this guy either had a death wish or believed in some exestential intervention. He would have heard me for many hundreds of metres, the engine was sitting around redline and the gravel smashing around was deafening but no let's just use the centre of the road the wrong way. Sigh. My mate said lucky it was you, I wouldn't have been able to avoid him. Sigh (the sequel).
