been running MST for 6 months now, car is very sluggish at lower revs.
Before purchasing I talked to Chad Chiang from MST Taiwan HQ and he told me that it's a common complaint from customers and the newer shorter filter should fix that. But this upgrade sacrifices throttle response

nope! keeping the rest of my driveline stock for now. second gear popping out issue is getting increasingly common
Thought I would be safe with 24k on the odometer but I just read a case of someone having that issue at 28k.

My brother's GR has this issue at 27k KMs. Whole gearbox is being replaced under warranty in a couple of weeks. Apparently, according to the dealer they have changed the synchro rings to a stronger design in the newer gearboxes. No idea what sort of run number has the improved rings from factory though...

EDIT:
His chassis number is in the A012XXX range if that is helpful to someone.

that's worrying... would you mind to tell what (ballpark nr.) is your brother's vin?
Your own car is more recent and without these issues - I hope?
Mine is a 21254 and haven't felt any gearbox issues yet... knock on wood! πŸ˜…

I updated the previous post just before I saw this reply. 21000 is pretty new isn't it?
Mine is 18507, so I hope that's new enough...

On the other hand, getting a free fresh gearbox at around 30k isn't the worst deal either I suppose

Change your gear oil and torque mount. If not helpfull adjust your shift cables and check other two engine/gearbox mounts.
