GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

Washed and waxed car only second time, paint looking good with almost no contact cleaning.

Rear hip PPF @Sticky also looks like doing its job, taken quite a lot of stone impacts and (hopefully) protecting the clear coat under it.

First proper service today and worth the 5 am wake up then 2 and a half hour drive to Macclesfield (my fault for booking 8 am). Sadly too foggy to enjoy Peak District roads so had to slow to a crawl. This was a bit further down. Still good though and have afternoon off so perhaps repeat some of them!

I got the horn

Very easy to fit once I'd managed to loosen the thin bolt that positions the bracket on the back of the horn.

Not mega loud, but no longer embarrassing.

Attempted to fit fixed seat brackets from sw motorsport. Started on the passenger side after disconnecting the battery
Could not get the seat/bracket bolt holes to line up, rang them incase I’d been sent a pair for the drivers side but after sending photos , nope, they are ok. Still a no go tho so put it back together, had to climb in the boot to reconnect the battery as I’d shut the boot
See what excuse they come up with tmrw I guess

Yes, but they only fit the drivers side. I tried several variations but none line up and the bracket will not allow the seat tilt mechanism to be bolted to it

As much as I hate to allways drive to a car wash box every time I want to wash my car, it's definitely right to do so. Think about all that soap, oil, debris that is going into the ground. Even if it would be allowed, I wouldn't do it on my yard. Groundwater is a precious thing. But I prefer using common sense than to rule and law everything into the ground.

Interesting. I have never thought about it. My runoff goes into our drainage/sewage system. No idea where it goes from there.

I like the freedom of being able to wash the car at home, but have no idea what all the car shampoos, wheel cleaners, ceramics, etc do to the environment.

It looks like they're not treated appropriately, though, and I won't be surprised if we soon have relevant restrictions imposed in the UK.

Just like you @Kaxe, I would love a best-of-both-worlds solution, where I'm allowed to wash cars at home, knowing that I'm not harming the environment. I just don't have confidence that we're there right now.

Uhm that's the same in Germany and sweden as well, but there is allways water draining through the pavement and so on. And the rest is heavily impacting the sewage/purification plants.

As I said. I won't do it. Even though I hate to drive to and wait at the washbox. Everyone to his own.

I pick somewhere on the 25,000m2 of grass and let it soak in. Eco friendly goos. Haven't had any issues so far, grass is happy.

Oh yeah they do need to stop dumping in the sea. It is gross!

And the rivers. Water authorities systematically (and legally) divert sewage into rivers and watercourses when groundwater gets too high to ‘protect homes and businesses’. If customer toilets backed up you can imagine the complaints, but toxifying already fragile ecosystems, whatevs. Out of sight, out of mind.

Southern Water are the worst, by every measure.
