GR86 GR86- Cars for sale - General Discussion

Twelve months is a long time and things have changed quite a bit for myself and the CEO, which now make me revisit the desire/need for the GR86 🤔. The CEO is now more than likely than ever to retire this year and the GR86 won’t cut it as our “only car” , plus we both have some chronic spinal issues which will only get worse with age, unfortunately a byproduct of the aging process.

The GR , 6AT in Ignition Red is at the dealers and available immediately, should anyone be interested contact me by PM. I’ve got several options as to what to , including taking it , and and have not made a final decision yet.

All the best with whatever you decide to do @AndyRC .

Perhaps a summer with the GR86 to help you decide? You'd be unlikely to lose any money on it.

Just run it in for someone else, and push it out the door is July for 15% profit.

Thats a massive shame to hear Andy, but obviously needs must, situations change, it isn't a necessity at the end of the day. All the best with whatever way it goes.

Could be a good plan, and then you have the option to keep longer if you want to.

I suppose there's some advantage to selling a car with delivery mileage only, but a carefully run in, well cared for car offered by a bona fide Forum Legend like you @AndyRC would still be a desirable thing.

The longer time goes on, the less delivery mileage cars they'll be and a few miles hardly makes it unsellable.

I've got a mate (stick with me here comrades) who has been single for a long time. Decent chap, good job, owns a nice house in a posh area etc. But he's in his mid forties and expects to meet a woman of a comparable age to settle down with, who doesn't have children and who has never been married. I and others have patiently explained many times how, the older he gets, the harder this will be.

So, bringing it back to your car @AndyRC - come the late summer/autumn, nobody will baulk at buying your car with a few miles on it.

Disclaimer: I'm not in any way describing women in their forties as being 'used' or 'having mileage'.

PS: I've got this far without mentioning the 'automatic' aspect...

@AndyRC, I would concur with what the others have said, especially with the time and effort you've put into the forum. Taking delivery and enjoying it over the summer, with a few road trips / weekends away chucked in for good measure will give you some great memories and you will still likely be able to sell for the same / more than you paid for it. 👍

He opted for auto 😜 have we seen a resell price for those yet.

In all seriousness, hope you get to enjoy the car a little mate.

Thanks for all the support , much appreciated 👍 I’m due to collect the car on Saturday but since my long term contact at JRT moved onto pastures new it’s all gone to 🐀 💩, no one talking to the online team and vice versa. I’ve just about given up on the 3 day drive way insurance 🤷‍♂️ More phone calls to the online team today to sort finance 🤯 As many others have experienced , this is not the feeling one should get collecting a new car ☹️

It will be worth it when you collect the car @AndyRC !

Don't forget to tag yourself in when you take delivery to update the list... ;)

(Edited for idiotic spelling - collect the CAT I put...)

I can only echo the sentiment on this front. I’m another owner who is yet to collect their car. Shambolic is an understatement and it doesn’t reflect well on TUK that the process is so frustrating.

Hopefully when I finally get the keys I’ll forget the dumpster fire of incompetence that is the online team/buying process that preceded handover day!

Changed my dealer this week, from Yeovil to Bournemouth, wasn’t happy with various lack of responses.

TUK aren’t the only part of the GR86 debarcle.

It's baffling how communication and delivery issues continue well into the GR86 delivery cycle.

I hope the car lives up to the expectations of those who are still waiting to collect theirs.

Well folks after weeks of working towards the 8th for collection , No1 Son coming over to stay and take me to collect the car (the CEO can’t drive after having her shoulder operation) I wake up to this ! You couldn‘t make this up 🤷‍♂️ thought I’d share in full 🤯

Easter weekend will be spent in the pub 🍺 not the GR 🚘 , at this moment I’m feeling a lot more enthusiastic about the 🍺than the 🚘

I feel for you Andy.
Toyota online buying experience is total disaster. What a disjointed effort by Toyota sales team UK.

That really is incredibly poor.

Sorry to hear that @AndyRC . This must be immensely frustrating.

Pub it is then. Looking at the forecast it might even stretch to beer garden weather.

I've read that Toyota communication again and it's so bad it's almost tipping over into satire.

Enjoy your weekend Andy and Tuesday will come around soon enough.

If Toyota Online we’re making a 💩show it would be an Oscar/BAFTA/Golden Globe Award winner 🥇🏆

Apparently the “finance delay “ was due to the Finance Team not updating the new VED increase on the proposal , despite the sales team telling me about it over a month ago 🤷‍♂️ At least I’ll organise my own 🤬🤬ss up in the pub 🍺🍺🍺 , not leaving that to chance with Toyota 😂😂😂

On a happier note I am definitely picking something up today which has a motoring connection and thankfully zero Toyota connection 🤔😎
