GR Yaris MPG and other data nerdary

Right so not much to say other than fuel went in and fuel got burnt and the winter continues to drop MPG slightly.

Although I did for the first time ever use Tesco 99, during the tank I did think maybe the MPG was slightly down but I don't think its conclusive and in fact I had half a tank of Tesco still in on the next tank which was one of my better MPG (it was the testing tank)

Tomorrow is likely going to be maybe one of the worst in terms of MPG as im doing the AutoSOLO

Also included is me playing around with cam selection on another car, its been interesting comparing them, I've even given it a go plotting exhaust and intake cam lift vs engine degrees

Interestingly our other car the Dacia has a similar performance limitation on a cold start it won't change to LPG until it too reaches a certain coolant/oil temp. makes for an easy measure of the ambient temperature affect on engine warm up times. On a mild day (above 10 degrees) its in the order of 10's of metres to switch, on a cooler day (5 degrees or lower) it can be near 1km if not more

26.3mpg average.....no shame
No pride or shame here

This is purely statistical information

Everyone welcome to spend money however they want

Mpg doesn’t inform how anyone drives though it can be a indicator. For example girlfriend gets 5 mpg less than me and drives slower. Why? Because she carried on at her speed longer before slowing down for a junction and roundabout and also sits in the car turns engine on and then selects her tunes then drives off 😂🤣

Pic below, I’ve either sat idling for 27 mins or Ive absolutely pasted it around a circuit. Both are equally possible 😂

Had to do two trips from the midlands to Essex, 100 miles each way this week, so I’v racked up over 400 miles in a week and about 10 hours seat time. Due to traffic and road works on most of the M1 had little choice but just cruise at 60. Throw in a few hold ups on the M25 there is nothing to be gained by trying to rush!!!!
Net result 45-46 mpg, best was 46.4 on one leg...... to put it another way 202 miles and 52% of fuel remaining according the App. V - Power or Costco, running DTUK box 1, on a performance mode, not tried the eco setting !!!

Be interesting to see if eco does anything on a closed loop cruise. Good mpg at circa 60mph! Backs up my data as well

Returned from the 9,000mile check / recall

Thought I’d dig out the tread depths for the car throughout
3,000, 6,000 and 9,000 mile I’m pretty impressed to be honest. I’ve not done track days with it, but I do like to use the handbrake, launch and get the rear moving. But I suppose 95% of time I’m just cruising around

Is this with stock suspension geometry settings?

Car up for sale

Being toying with it for a while, its difficult because its not like another car is better, its just I need to enjoy other parts of life.

Fair Play 👏 must have been a hard decision I bloody love mine but as we all know life is all about choices and the decisions we make. At least you have had one and enjoyed it.

At that price it will be gone very very quickly. Very keenly priced IMHO.

Good luck with the sale (y)(y)

It is a super hard decision 😅 . It would be easy if there was another car I desired or something negative about the car.

Indeed

Oh 😅🤣 might up the price. I see that most circuit pack cars are £34,000 and above but I was assuming these were the cars that hadn’t sold, the cheaper ones sold thus leaving the expensive adverts behind

Sorry to see you go, but if circumstances dictate that you want/need to sell the car then you have to sell it.

Before you go, ask @MrJ what MPG he got on Friday travelling to Milton Keynes...

The advert is up, but my head/heart still is truely undecided. A sleep on it and discussion with a colleague may have changed my mind 😂😅

If I don’t sell it, then something good has come from it. Me being over precious about it. This was a driving factor with selling it, I didn’t use it too often as I would be concerned about parking etc.

But now I realise I can sell it and that would be fine, it’s weirdly opened me up to more things I can use the car for.

I also realised I had factored in paying the PCP balloon payment in my monthly outgoing spreadsheet twice 😂😅 so this is another factor. I was thinking damn this car is super expensive.

I think I’ll leave the ad up, but I’ll revisit my thoughts.

The trouble is I’m out on the bikes this time of year and I see the car sitting there and I think. Is this the best use of my money and the car. I like track days you see so my logic was I could attend a track day every month without over stretching myself.

So in summary still undecided but somewhat released from the negative side of car ownership. The anxiety of having a nice car 🙂

I know advertising a car, when your not 100% isn’t the best thing to do, but honestly I didn’t know how I’d feel until I actually went through with it.
