GR86 Missing rubber grommets?

Is the boot meant to have this hole is is my car missing a rubber grommet?

Been to check and mine is the same - no grommet

Maybe a drain hole? Although it'd drain into the boot

My old MX-5 used to drain in to the boot. If there was a heavy downpour and the drain holes weren't super clean, the boot would fill up with a few inches of water haha
