I panicked when I saw your post as the dealer clearly gave you duff advice (or at least, not what the manual says) and I didn't want you to cause any issues further down the line. My dealer didn't know anything about the car when I went to speak to them in Dec. Worrying!

Thanks. Yes, mine is a manual. I was quoted a cost of something like £430 for the rear parking sensors but in the end I persuaded the nice folk at Toyota Online to cover the cost.
