GR86 GR86- Cars for sale - General Discussion

Define derisory? I made an offer on Thursday, Friday and today at the amounts I shared previously. One of them is £1k away from what the seller would accept. So not sure ‘derisory’ is a fair reflection. Let’s be honest, people aren’t scrambling after them at £36k, and it’s not like dealers are lining up to offer people more than list.
I think dealers will sell them at 36k quite easily. Most people these days want an easy life, trade-in, finance etc. Privately would take longer as there aren’t many people handing over 30k plus in a private sale these days, traders will but want their 4-6k profit so will only give list or marginally more I’d guess.
Not sure why someone can’t arrange their own finance and buy privately though.

I reckon you’re right, and I reckon I’m offering more than the vast majority of dealers will be offering for trade in 👍

The PCP payment details reflected the non metallic black cars.

Metallic paintwork added £640.
And Pearl white, red, either blue £965…..

PCP largely irrelevant, you only pay interest on the balance for the time it’s outstanding.

I sold my GRYaris at list to an enthusiast as wife didn’t get on with it, just to have the person who bought it turn out to be a dealer who flipped it at a large profit.

Mines coming off sale on Tuesday, I’ve a decent dealer offer at significantly more than jw191 is offering which I’m pondering but I’m minded to just use and enjoy it.

Use it and enjoy it 👍

To be fair, I acknowledge my offer is less of a markup for a red (or elec blue) car, so I appreciate there’s not as much profit in it for sellers who bought the car hoping to make a quick buck (although it’s still £1,500 for doing nothing). They’re just not my favourite colours.

One of the sellers I’m talking to said they had a dealer offer cancelled, and another said they had theirs reduced. Once you’ve sold it or decided to keep it, let us know the dealer and what they offered.

My missus quite liked the Yaris cross so I went on the site, and £36,000 for a reasonable spec.

Makes our 86's look quite good value.

Didn’t know you could spec it to that value. I’ve got a Yaris Cross with literally every option ticked in Excel spec including JBL before it was removed and it came in at 27.5k. Obviously not from Toyota direct, but there is good deals out there.

I couldn’t order the AWD though when I placed the order, so guessing that’s where they extra cost is coming from.

My bad, I was looking at the total amount payable/finance..

What do you think of it?

Trying to decide what to buy for her, possibly to last 10 years plus.

Agreed. When its 27.6k for a base spec 1L Ford Focus, or 26.5K for a basic spec 130bhp 1.5L MX5 - then you can see why the GR86 has proven so popular.
I got my post totally wrong, was looking at the total amount payable/finance, panic over.

A shade over 30k is a bit more bearable.

What did you think of the C-HR?

Don't want to derail the thread, so I might start another elsewhere.

Pan roof has delayed it till the end of March, ordered at the end of August. If you want one quick don’t spec the pan roof. If you order now without it you can get delivery in March.

A few starting to appear on auto trader around the £35k mark which I don’t think is too bad.

I’m looking for an auto so I think these will be a lot harder to come by.

If the % split we have amongst forum members is representative of the whole U.K. allocation there could eventually only be around 25/30 automatics , so far no white (other than the one Toyota have at the Training Academy) or Silver

Agree.

If I hadn't have got my order in I'd be happy to pay 35k

But most people would need to buy from a dealer rather than private.

Finance/Px/peace of mind.

So I'm not surprised that haven't sold.
Not to mention being the second keeper is off putting.

Agree, you are paying a sizeable premium, you will probably need to travel a significant distance and you'll be recorded on the V5C as the second owner.

Not for me.
