I'm getting that same feeling. Had the insurance email and talk of part ex but that seems to have stalled. I really need it before Christmas as there's places I have to go.

I might have spoken too soon and harshly....TUK just phoned me.
Expected delivery from the 1st + a few days for dealer PDI. Expecting payment request imminently :)
 
I have been told I am in the third delivery batch and that is expected mid December. Taking it with a bucket of salt.

They did also say they would be in touch again when they had a firmer view of delivery.

I’m hoping the “towards the end of December” comment to me was a case of ‘underpromise then over-deliver’!
 
I think I'm getting an impression of first deliveries early Dec, 2nd mid and 3rd end of December.

Spoke to them earlier and sounding confident about first deliveries (~50) early Dec.

Judging from our experience it’s been over-promise and un-deliver! For my 10:14 order, I was told in the earlier mass email that I’ll get the car before Christmas and not at the end of December
 
Seems weird, but I've just paid for my GR86 using nothing but my phone 🤪

Had the "we want your money" email this afternoon. I'm a 10.04 confirmed order for what it's worth.

Roll on December!

hi was the bank OK with £30K purchase. Did you use a credit card? I hope I do not need to go to the bank as I don't have time.

Just looked in Development tools and it does give the correct dealer regardless of what the MyT app says (y)

I just used my Banking App and used the Account Number, sort code and ORCA number as instructed.
I've paid for much dearer things through my Bank app on my phone so I know it works fine. Toyota GB came up as "Matching data" when I put the numbers in so all good.
 
So this is weird. I had the call earlier like I said, being told I'd be asked for payment soon, via email. At the time, I asked if it would be possible to get the registration number - was promised they would send me that when they knew. It's just so I can use it when I get more serious about buying insurance.

I've not had the email requesting payment yet, but I did just get an email informing me about my VIN (which is as expected) and my registration number. I was expecting my plate to be "GL72", going by the demo car I saw at my dealer the other day - but apparently it's "WU72".

Looking it up, WU is a geo code for the west of England - Bristol, to be exact. Doesn't that suggest that the car was registered at the port, then?

I don't suppose it matters either way. Apart from being a bit of mouthful to say over the phone when getting insurance quotes ("Yes, its double-you you seventy two"), I don't really care what the numbers on the front of my car are, any more than I car what my mobile phone's serial number is. Just seemed odd.
 
I was always under the impression that registration and PDI happened with Toyota centrally, but have seen more recent comments suggesting PDI takes place at the dealer.

So in conclusion, I have no idea.
 
I wonder how it’s going to work on a region basis. While I am a 10:20 order, I’m the first one my dealer is getting and handing over (according to him). Does that mean I’ll be in the first round? Does it mean I’ll be in the first “Welsh” round? Time will tell!
 
I was told by Toyota online all the reg plates would correspond to Portbury. Final PDI, checking fluids, adding plates done by local dealer.
 
Phew. At least I know they haven't made a mistake and are taking my car to a dealer on the wrong side of the country.
