GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

If you can, check the "all" tab in development tools as it shows your dealer there.
My map showed a wrong position, but my dealer was correct in the data.

Wahey mine has updated! Seems like a pointless journey when it’s laid out like this though…
I’ve got the same on my app (updated last night) - wonder if we’ll be collecting car on same day from Cardiff ? Have you had your test drive in the demo car yet? I’ve booked my test drive for this Saturday

Received a call from Toyota online this morning after I emailed for an update. I am a 10.07 order whos car has been in the uk since June.

I was told my car has now moved to a vague mid December delivery having slipped from batch 1.1 to now batch 1.x, with all batch 1. cars aiming to be delivered in December. Hearing mid December now has me thinking I won’t have the car until January given Christmas and pdi delays etc.

Toyota rep could give no further information as to what mid December actually means, only that they’ve elected to stagger the first batch deliveries so as not to overwhelm dealers.

I’d be lying if I said this hadn’t angered me as I was getting set for an early December delivery and this now slipped…. Again.

Also there’s an issue with insuring me for the three days so that’s another call to try and sort out.

Rant over, first world issue compared to some on this forum, let alone actual issues in the world.

So this is weird. I had the call earlier like I said, being told I'd be asked for payment soon, via email. At the time, I asked if it would be possible to get the registration number - was promised they would send me that when they knew. It's just so I can use it when I get more serious about buying insurance.

I've not had the email requesting payment yet, but I did just get an email informing me about my VIN (which is as expected) and my registration number. I was expecting my plate to be "GL72", going by the demo car I saw at my dealer the other day - but apparently it's "WU72".

Looking it up, WU is a geo code for the west of England - Bristol, to be exact. Doesn't that suggest that the car was registered at the port, then?

I don't suppose it matters either way. Apart from being a bit of mouthful to say over the phone when getting insurance quotes ("Yes, its double-you you seventy two"), I don't really care what the numbers on the front of my car are, any more than I car what my mobile phone's serial number is. Just seemed odd.
I like having a 'G' plate, having lived in Kent and Sussex for so long. That said, I've put a private plate on it with my initials, so it'll start with 'S'. I'd be inexplicably miffed if I hadn't put a plate on and it came with a 'W'. I have no idea why

My current car starts WR69 and it always make me think of a world record achievement in private endeavours…
