GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

I know I’m not the guy you asked, but they’ve told me they hope to have it ready to test drive by the end of this week. Was more than happy for me to start it up and have a sit inside when I went yesterday though.
Ah ok thanks for that. I might drop them an email and see if I can pop up tomorrow as I'm off work...
I wonder how many are coming through Parklands..?

Looking like a 2nd December provisional date for me, at 10:18 order email. Perhaps they are just maxing out the transporters to get as many out of the door in one shipment?

Those who've got 2/12 expected did you get contacted by the dealer to inform you or was it a proactive call to them?
I was in my local Toyota on Saturday but said he hadnt heard any more on the GR86 - ordered 10:12 on the launch day and received the 1st batch email.

Same orca for me and I was asked to sort out 3 day insurance. Apart from that no, the dealer did not contact me. I contacted them to sort out my part-ex thought them instead of Toyota online.

Just been asked to pay + got my reg number…….. it’s happening at last.
I have paid last week and got nothing, not even the reciept yet.

Did Toyota Buy Online or Dealer update you on the reg number and stuff?

Not too happy about handing over £30k with no delivery date based on current experience of this order process. Did they send a proper invoice. What happens if you pay and don’t get your car for over 14 days given distance selling regulations

Could do with my current car coming back from the body shop sharpish if deliveries are starting imminently 😳 deposit is tied up in the positive equity!

+1 on premium bonds. Even after that I would like to have a confirmed delivery date. As if they tell me second half of December I rather wait until January and get another chance at the premium. Bonds

I posted this elsewhere; I’m assuming it’s the case for all part-ex, but may be wrong:

Part-ex valuations are being done by British Car Auctions via an email link. I’d originally thought the dealer was quoting a price - I had been told as much by Toyota UK earlier in the year that they’d offer, and would have first refusal if I accepted - but seemingly this is no longer the case.

Because I’d assumed it was still the case, I’d left my keys at the dealer when taking a test drive; when I got back he’d filled in an inspection report and got a couple of online figures based on his appraisal (Auto Trader / Black Book live valuation) but said they were only a guide.

On contacting Toyota UK I was sent a link to BCA which required me to fill in various details about the car, then take a series of photos as guided by the interactive link (you need approx. 2 metres space around the car, and guidelines get you to take photos from various angles including wheels, front and rear seats, dashboard and with an open boot). I did this on Saturday, and on Monday was contacted by Toyota UK with the offer.

All fairly straightforward, but not what I was expecting. I’d imagine if you contact Toyota UK, I’d imagine they’ll send you the link; mine was slightly delayed by them checking whether the dealer had taken the necessary photos - he hadn’t, but his estimate for the part-ex was within £5 of what I was offered, which seemed impressive!

I don’t think anyone should be handling over money without a proper written invoice and a written commitment of the delivery date to you as customer. Out of interest what happens if you pay and the car gets damaged in transit to dealer ?

It would be no different than buying other goods. It starts after you receive those goods, in this case the car.

Well it is different as those other goods you have bought on a credit card and you use charge back if the goods don’t arrive. Each car I have bought I have done a bank transfer the day before or on the day. I’m certainly not handing over £30k on some vague indication my car might turn up when they find some transport and decide it can be delivered.

At this point I am not sure I’d want to deal with the online team to be honest for the part ex
They are either non responsive or very slow to respond. In contrast my local dealer is eager to play ball. So I am not part exchanging with online team but with the local dealership

It was my dealer who informed me it was being done this way. If yours is willing to operate differently, fair enough.

I got a fiver more online than the dealer suggested though!
