Hi All,

With pick up of the GR86 possibly imminent, does anyone have any checklists for new car pick up? Initial thoughts from my previous post on what to ask dealer:
1. Check if mats are included
2. Check all dealer stickers are gone
3. Plates to be stuck on, rather then drilled.
4. Private plate added if have one.
5. How much petrol included and plan your petrol station route on way home for premium unleaded.
6. Double check VIN matches your paperwork - can't be too sure with all our cars being stuck in derby this long.
7. Quick lap of the car to check for paintwork scratches/dents.
8. Check lights for condensation
9. Check all internal and external lights work.
10. Check satnav works and can pair to your phone on bluetooth for the drive home.

Cheers.

Check the condition of the tyres given the cars potentially haven't moved for four months.
Find out what the tyre pressures should be and check they are right.
Handbook/service book present if provided.
Check that there's a jack/locking wheel nut/tyre gunk etc.
Check nobody from Toyota Online Retail has pooed in the glove box.

I read somewhere that the cars won't be supplied with a jack, as they don't have a spare, only the tyre gunk. Which is annoying because I bought a second hand Subaru WRX space saver for my old GT86 and kept it to put in the new car. Now I'll jave to get a scissor jack too.

I'll have to remember to ask no dealer stickers in windows. Those are a nightmare to remove and the residue never goes. Every time a window mists up you see the old outline

Will we get a nice cuddly toy?

15. Check mileage. With few (if any) demonstrator GR86 doing the rounds it could be all too tempting for dealership staff to take a quick spin around the block in customer cars (on the pretext of "checking that there aren't any rattles/squeaks").

This. "Just see what it's like on the wheels..." Then it comes back kerbed or worse.

Response based on my questions..

I have now spoken with the bodyshop that would fit your spoiler and they will charge £100 + vat.
Re cleaning and stickers. We do have the notes on the system and I will make the relevant people aware.
Regarding the number plates, if your want to fit them yourself that’s fine but obviously you would have to do this here before you drive off.
Some cars arrive here showing only 1 mile and other show double figures, I will let you know what it is showing as soon as I see it.
The car will be driven to fuel (approximately 2 miles round trip) and also a short road test by the technician that prepares the car, this should also be around 2 miles.
I would think the spoiler would be classed as a minor modification so it’s best to let your insurer know and check with them.
You will be able to pay before collection.

I've also emailed to ask if they will be using Premium fuel rather than supermarket fuel.
