It is time for a wristshot

Something a little different from me:

Not generally into watches but saw this on a trip to Tokyo and had to buy it.

Is a limited edition Robert Geller G Shock "Midnight in Tokyo" not sure they made many but I wear it most days and seems to just keep going up in value.

Nothing wrong with a G Shock @PVGR wear what you like, not how much it's worth. (y)

I'm selling a few watches on ebay at present, surprised how buoyant prices are and interest is, given what's happening right now.

I like that. And I like the story (Tokyo limited edition which you bought in Tokyo) which is far more important than value (actual or perceived).

Watches, like art and classic cars, are often seen as relatively safe bets to invest in, in financially uncertain times.

Having something tangible and of some use helps.

Whilst routing through some old boxes today I found this, which I didn't even know I had. A 1971 Seiko 5 owned by my late grandad. Instantly started ticking and seems to have kept good time this afternoon.

I've been looking for something similar as a birth year watch (big 4.0. for me this year), and a Seiko as I knew he liked them, so it felt a little like he was looking down today.

The dial is great, the strap has had it so I have a couple of options on order.

Pretty chuffed to have found that 😊

So glad there are some like minded Car/Watch obsessed people.

My main 3 Watches below.

ChristopherWard Trident Pro 300 40mm (My daily wear)
IWC Mark XX 39mm
Seiko Prospex Speedtimer Panda (Generally for Motorsports events or daily wear if I don't fancy the ChristopherWard) also 39mm.

Fortunately the lug to lug is 20mm on them all so I get to keep things fresh on the strap front without too many straps. I've got a few other quartz watches from a few months on watchgang but they very rarely come out the main case.

Seiko on a black rubber would probably be my go to for cars and coffee type events.

Really like that Prospex!

I have a Christopher Ward C63 which makes a great daily as well, was really impressed with the quality / price on that.

Yeah was really impressed with the ChristopherWard - fortunately there Maidenhead showroom/office is only 20 minutes or so from me so I was able to see it in person before I bought in. They've got alot of really cool gear.

Similar distance for me but I took the risk thinking it would make returns easy if I didn't like it! :ROFLMAO:

Farer are also pretty local to you then. I'd advise not going in to see them unless you're looking to walk away with something. They make some lovely colourful dials :D(y)

Hadn't looked into Farer before - they are practically walking distance from me!

I keep meaning to get a tour booked of the Wing for Bremont down at Henley too.

Nice to see this thread re-energised!

(I know I had some pictures of my own modest collection on here before but I deleted them due to some (unfounded) privacy concerns, so I'll take some new pictures as and when I wear them...)
