straigth from the German Forum:

So, heute ist das Schreiben endlich gekommen.

Nur ein Update des Bremseinheitssteuergeräts, dann können sie auf die Strasse.

Only an update for the brake ECU, whichs eems to be availbale.
Cars can be updated and released.

edit: i'm checking other sources and keep you updated.

Sounds positive, hope you're right and we might see cars getting delivered soon.

Yep. AT least for "European" cars.
We all have the date arround 14.october as delivered date.

The guy who posted this, works for Toyota, but in Swiss.
But this should effect all European cars.

Not sure about the UK cars, because you always had the info for November.
Maybe you are one month late, i don't know.

"End of September" was also said in an internal Toyota info.
Also the VSC rumor seems to be true.

The car in the video has a CO2 emmission of 198g/km, thats exactly the value for the base trim in Europe.
So - as expected - no change there. And no additional taxes.

I'm also skeptical.
i have asked a German Toyota employee, but i'm waiting for an answer ;)
Please keep us updated!
Hopefully this does at least mean that there is actually an issue that has been resolved, so the delay wont be ongoing and then the "November" estimate might at least be accurate.

Got an answer

No change/official information in Germany atm.

The car is also now appearing on insurance comparison websites...hopefully more confirmation that delivery will be soon :)

You’d think that an brake ECU update would be a fairly simple fix that could easily be done as part of a PDI, but I guess given that all GR86s are apparently being PDI’d centrally rather than at the individual dealers, it might take longer?

As staded 1436383 times: the problem not the update itself, it is its certification by the authorities...

Sorry, no need to get so arsey with me.

I haven’t read every single post so sorry if you have stated this 1436383 times that i havent seen!!

I’ll shut up and leave you to it then.

So of all the potential delay rumors is this the lhd cars having a break actuator issue or the crash causing traction control issue fix?
