Bit late for me, as I've just arranged to meet someone in Wakefield at 8:30 and it's around an hour to get to Huckleberry's, so we'll see you all at CH

why are the directions sending you past the place into malton only to go back to where you have been in effect 🧐
I think that’s just for coaches and large vehicles. Or I’m reading the wrong bit

not sure but will go off the a64 and up the "stray" no point going miles out of the way
The bit before the directions where it says
"Coaches and wide vehicles travelling to Castle Howard from York will need to take alternative routes to avoid the narrow gateways..."
was the giveaway for me ;)

Cracking day out in a great setting today. Definitely one to keep in the calendar for next year 👍

Great to see folk again and “try and explain“ why there are no GR86s yet 😤 , the weather turned out ok too. Hopefully 🤞 we should have some GR86 for the Spring 2023 Newby Hall event, sadly I doubt mine will be here by then.

PS Hope you GRY folk enjoyed the off road experience leaving CH, can @GR-Admin please arrange “Ferrari Privliege Tickets” to leave via tarmac for those Zoo members who arn’t keen on off roading 🤔

that exit road was crap!

Agree, I think a lot of folk will be unhappy. The organiser wasn’t up front about that , understandably, a lot of would have said no thanks. The “south” field at Castle Howard” has much better access , I didn’t know a free stage of Rally Yorkshire was included 🤷🏻‍♂️

What 🤬 me off is apparently some folk had “special permission” to leave via the way we came in and let rip too , I will let Chris Crossley at SCITP know my thoughts and will think twice next year if it’s in the North field 🤷🏻‍♂️

Edit SCITP Facebook page open for comments, have left mine 👍

Thanks to all who attended yesterday - a great day, decent weather and nice location.

A few pics of our GR-Zoo cars, plus a stunning Supra from the DDM club.

I followed a plonker out who kept spinning the rear wheels throwing stones up so I gave him about 50 meters. Not impressed with that way out but the day was enjoyable. I didn't miss the really expensive cars we saw at Newby and the people who owned them. A good selection of older cars and their enthusiast owners who were a delight to talk to.

The organisers are trying to gloss over the issue on the FB page, not an issue / no previous complaints etc. The south field has much better access for a car meet

On the way home I had a slightly worrying few seconds.
My car went in a couple of months ago for the recall update with the software.
Very nearly home going through the centre of Bradford. Clear ahead but traffic behind when a pedestrian walked towards the button at the lights. He was about a yard from the button and had his arm out reaching for it so he was well onto the pavement.
My car pannicked as it clearly thought he was stepping into its path and jammed all on. Yes it did very nearly come to a stop.
I have never felt a car come to a shuddering instant stop like that.
I knew what it was doing so hit the accelerator a bit to keep me moving a couple of yards as there was a car behind me.
I was shocked that the car could do that and cause an accident.
The road is a very mild bend to the right - very mild but at that instant the pedestrian probably looked like it was in front. It happened at about 10m away from him but he was well onto the pavement.
I have had the buzzing warning a few times going round mild bends with parked cars but the car stopping instantly without warning is a worry.
I am wondering if Toyota need telling about this.
