GR86 GR86 - The “I’m thinking of cancelling / did cancel my order” thread

Still better than the back seats in this though 🤣🤣🤣
Haha. That's my Peugeot 208 behind your Z4. I think you followed me in.

Seeing the two GT86's that were there reminded me how low to the ground they are.

Decent pics on their facebook page, im actually in this one!

My nominated dealer phoned me today trying to get me out of my '64 plate GT86 & into a '17 plate one. Couldn't get a word in, to let him know I already have a GR on order 😃

We discussed how much of a shambles the whole process was, and he checked their system to let me know it was due by the end of '22, not sure how he knew that, but I humoured him.

Bit concerned that he asked me if I knew anyone who wanted the GT he was selling, I'm wondering if the px values are going to fall dramatically soon.

I’m not thinking of cancelling, I’m at the back of the queue as I changed colour. But as I have nearly 2 years to wait I feel I need something else to occupy my time.

Just paid a deposit to go on the list for a new Civic Type R. The dealer has advised only 300 are coming to the U.K. and I am number 8 on their list. When they know what allocation they are getting they’ll do their best to try and get me a car. Had to give them my order preference on colour. Cars should be in U.K. early 2023, which I thought sounds a bit unrealistic, plus they all come with 5 years free servicing as standard.

Hope I manage to get one but reminds me of a similar conversation I had with my Toyota dealer ha ha.

Don’t worry, Honda will go online to beat the Toyota team at their own game, announce a “Go Live date” , give 299 customers with their name down an “Early Bird“ link (learned that one from Toyota) and let some lucky punter get the 300th car and they can in all honesty (just like Toyota U.K.) shout in every press release :

”GONE IN 60 SECONDS “ 👍🤣

Only thing I've found with Honda are the rates aren't always great which put me off before. That and when we did the numbers the old salesman even baulked at the price exclaiming "that's a mortgage".

At this point I don’t even know what the car costs or any finance details. If it’s under £40k and isn’t ridiculous on PCP then all good.

If 300 cars is true then I think I am unlikely to get one. The dealerships get an allocation so I assume they would give first offers to loyal customers?

It does make me wince seeing the number of people being really excited as they've already "got a deposit down on one" and then knowing how our own experience has panned out!

At least you're going in with low expectations :ROFLMAO:

Definitely, if I am a lucky one then happy days. If not I gave it a go. Plus you would expect a loyal customer to be given priority, I’ve never owned a Honda before

For those who have cancelled their order:

1) How did you do it in terms of practicalities, i.e. who did you speak with?
2) Any problems in securing the return of your deposit?

Apologies if I've missed any information pertaining to this above.

Thanks

My Honda dealer won't take a deposit until the price is announced. Seems a bit weird with the servicing. My FK8 cost just under 1K for 5 year servicing, warranty & breakdown.

When I asked during my 'call', they said just call or email them and they will do it for you. Could take up to 5 working days.

I can't say how this works in reality though.
