GR86 The GR86 “The Orders / Owners List / GR86 Register”

I was at Goodwood today and GR were there with a Yaris, pre-production 86 and manual Supra. The nice lady said that she thought all the 86s would be delivered this year---get the phone call and then three months later, you should have your car.

Sat in the 86 just after trying the Emira, and I'm glad I chose the former :) The Emira was nice, but pedals too close together unless you wear small shoes, and the 86 driving position felt lower.

The Toyota people at the stand today probably weren't briefed properly. How I wish what she said would be true! Unfortunately none of them seemed to know the UK standard features, and one even asked me what options I had selected :ROFLMAO:

I liked the low slung driving position and it's even lower than I had imagined. The shifter was a bit more forward than I'd thought, maybe that would take some getting used to.

I'm 11:22.. had given up on the idea of any changes to my account within the 12 weeks given at the last email, but this has given me fresh hope!

Tis happening. ..

Next update to happen sometime during 2023 :ROFLMAO:

11:13am confirmed order and just gone into processing. Seems like us people after 10:45 orders have gone into processing real quick. Shame are cars wont turn up till next year but could get a surprise haha:ROFLMAO: Being a post 11am order and reading the forum, I have got slight bit of optimism that we may get cars this year😅

I received this email today, in reply to an email I sent over 5 weeks ago :

"Thanks for your email and please accept my apologies for the delayed response to your question. We are currently working through the welcome calls and you will receive it please rest assured your order is secured. As you may know we have sold out of our 2 year allocation for the GR86, therefore deliveries will be spread across late 2022 and throughout 2023. Once all orders have been placed chronologically the factory will begin to plan and allocate the vehicles, so at this stage I would be unable to confirm an estimate for your GR86.

I would suggest keeping an eye on the Vehicle Order Tracker on the myT app, you will be notified once your GR86 goes into production, it will remain in the "Order Processing" stage until that point. I do hope that has helped
provide some clarity?"

I have so many questions, but know I won't get any decent response.

To be fair, I think that's a decent response. You know you'll have a car and you will get an update on the app, once they have started building. That works for me. At least there's been movement within the 12 weeks that was suggested previously.

Response from TUK Online to three questions I asked:
1. Could delivery run into 2023?
2. Would the price be honoured irrespective of delivery date?
3. Would the PCP offer be honoured irrespective of delivery date?

TBF to TUK they came back quickly and I’m happy with the response, so I won’t be throwing my teddy away and cancelling my order, sorry to the ‘000s hoping someone will 😉

Great news that orders are still moving through and updates are happening.

I’m guessing from reading AlexB’s response email. The orders are placed with factory chronologically but when they get built is a lottery, possibly back to batching colours. And the first load of cars to be built the folks we lucky and these were already scheduled vehicles that got allocated.

That’s my view anyway as it doesn’t seem to be that they are being given build slots based on order time.
