I wonder why Carwow are on the lookout for a GT86 for a Drag Race? :ROFLMAO:

Wonder where they film, it's another opportunity to see a GR86 in the metal before delivery! :ROFLMAO:

I'd never let them drag my car. I'm so fed up of carwow and their drag races. It's been done so many times and has no bearing on real world driving. Also with carwow being part owned by several manufacturers now their word is worth nothing.

I mean a drag race of the GT86 and GR86 is somewhat inevitable? To see how the 2 models differ to one another... It might not matter 100% but straight line performance is always going to be a measure, and when everything else is like for like. It would be interesting to see how the GR86 improves upon the GT with an extra ~25 horses and torque etc.

It's still an irrelevant test. I've never bought any vehicle based on what it can do 0-60.

I used to subscribe to carwow and I don't mind Mat Watson but I couldn't face any more drag races. They might have been a bit of fun when they first launched the channel but the content just got a bit mainstream, repetitive and pointless. Mat's own YouTube channel is more interesting and I wouldn't be surprised if he's now getting a bit bored of carwow himself.

Carfection and Pistonheads are much more engaging and informative for reviews and Jonny Smiths Late Brake Show offers some really interesting and diverse content. In the U.S. the Savagegeese channel is a decent watch and Everyday Driver are also pretty good and relevant to us since they went out and bought a GR86.

I enjoyed the Everyday Driver take on it as they actually bought one and everything they said was logical. I'm normally skeptical of American reviews but theirs was good. 30-70 tests and brake tests are fine but I don't have to see them happen. Stick a text box somewhere in the vid telling me what it did. I'd much prefer seeing a car being driven on a track or over a nice road to see how the chassis responds.
There's more and more content coming from Japan all the time, especially with tuners getting their hands on them. They seem to be well behind it

I'm a big fan of Everyday Driver. They seem like decent, genuine blokes. I'm really looking forward to the upcoming content with the GR86 they bought.
