I usually do my own servicing/maintenance albeit on older cars, I quite enjoy it and it seems daft to pay a dealer £300 for something I can do myself for £50-60 plus a few hours of my time and at least I know it’s been done properly.

I guess I wouldn’t get the 5year warranty extension, but would Toyota still cover the first 5 years, providing I have receipts and proof I’ve done the services?

Anyone else thinking of doing their own servicing?

I believe the standard warranty with Toyota UK is 3 years since they introduced the Toyota Relax programme and whilst I don't know about Toyota's warranty policy, most manufacturers will require for the car to be serviced via a VAT registered workshop with OEM parts to keep the warranty from being void.

Ah didn’t realise it was down to 3 yrs now. Probably best sticking with dealer servicing I guess for the warranty.

If I am not mistaken doing services for the first three years should be fine as it is the standard manufacturers warranty. You would just need to use approved parts. From years 4-10 it would need to be serviced by Toyota under Toyota Relax.

Although I could be wrong.

Plus with Toyota Relax extended warranty... every year you service the car you get an additional year of warranty. Seems a no brainer from my end

One of the attractions of the GR86, amongst many, is a 10 year warranty, i can get 10% of service at my preferred dealership with Toyota Owners Club U.K. so it’s the right option for me. If anything does go wrong and there is an issue “you serviced it” 😉

I'm pretty sure Marshall's also price match if you can find a written quote with approved parts. Or they used to at least.

Point 4 on the below.
