OK - I have wondered at what point in the process the order became 'valid' with my, and especially your, confirmation email being outside the magical '90 minutes'.Yeah was submitted online, i just assume that i took a while to check out
10:11 Order ConfirmationReading the GR86 build progress / delivery tracking thread, those who had received a confirmation e-mails up to 10:14 have now had the call and have a confirmed order
Nope, mine was 10:14 - have ORCA and 'Processing' status in the app but no call or delivery infoReading the GR86 build progress / delivery tracking thread, those who had received a confirmation e-mails up to 10:14 have now had the call and have a confirmed order

No contact for me yet so must be some other factors at work. Code inspect still showing no status.
I have to agree Toyota have made a complete pig's ear of the whole process, I think all any of us want to know is right you've had my £1000 now when will I get my car??It's such a stupid arrangement - not just for us buyers but also for all involved including the order processing staff.
What was the point in Toyota UK insisting on us all entering our own details into a system that the online buying team then have to enter again (manually ffs!), into 'the' Toyota system which is only when our orders are truly confirmed with Toyota globally and eventually with the factory? In reality all of the management of the ordering window/quota, the customer details information shuffling / double entry, and the order processing / status updates could have been automated and the production facility would by now have confirmed back to all of use when all of our cars would be built and and probably provided an ETA for their arrival in the UK.
I have complete sympathy for the individual staff members trying to manage all this mess but it is Toyota's own doing and it needn't have happened in the first place, none of this needed to be difficult or complicated. The whole shambles feels like it has a long way to rumble on yet, given how many of us are still waiting for ANY form of news at all.
Toyota are a mass producer of cars, why on Earth have they attempted to bolt-on some daft bespoke buying process as if this were a 1 of 100 production hypercar? I don't want a call, I didn't even have any options to choose from really so what are you going to talk to me about? I just want the car in my possession via a simple, easy, clear process where I'm kept informed along the way. Too much to ask from the world's biggest car manufacturer? Apparently so. Sigh.
I’m sure the poor folk making those calls are just following instructions and are just as unhappy about the situation as we are.I have to agree Toyota have made a complete pig's ear of the whole process, I think all any of us want to know is right you've had my £1000 now when will I get my car??
If this is supposed to be a slick online process why do we need "the call" before we know if we are actually getting a car & when??
To be honest I'm fed up with waiting for this mythical call if & when it does come I will either fall of my chair in shock or give the poor sod from Toyota both barrels!
Don't get me wrong I know it's not the poor guy's making the calls fault & if I ever get the call I will be politeness itself but I will give them feedback on how badly the process has been handled since the 20th.I’m sure the poor folk making those calls are just following instructions and are just as happy about the situation as we are.![]()
I'm getting mine from Guildford too!Yep Sandhurst‘s the one. Been in many times before there, good guys in there. But just went with Guildford on this one because of the GR Centre part. In grand scheme of things won’t make a difference really. From reading demonstrators will be at GR centres only? But also servicing will need to be done at GR Centres too?
Completely agree except T UK have been making a mess of this for a lot longer than that! A year with no information and missed dates of release to not telling dealerships what was happening and allowing us to place orders… the website on order hour was awful for a lot of people and their social media support wasn’t much better…Don't get me wrong I know it's not the poor guy's making the calls fault & if I ever get the call I will be politeness itself but I will give them feedback on how badly the process has been handled since the 20th.
It does say in the article that "the halt lasts (from 30th April) until May 16 at certain lines at an Aichi factory of subsidiary Toyota Auto Body", so all whats is happening (orders not being updated for last two weeks)makes some sense now... "Subaru and Suzuki Motor are carrying out longer shutdowns for part of their operations" are mentioned as well in the article.I'm not sure what impact the national holiday in Japan will have had on order processing. They had a shutdown from 29th of April until 8th of May with rumours of an extended shutdown due to supply chain issues. I guess the UK end can't do a lot if there is no processing going on at the other end.....
