I can't believe Tamiya do the RWD GR86 with a 4WD chassis but do the 4WD GR Yaris with a FWD chassis.....

Did mine over Christmas Nice typical TT02 build - the body took twice as long as the chassis!

Not had a chance to run it outside yet.

Did you paint it with the official Toyota “pearlescent” special red paint

I did it with the Tamiya mica red which I think is pretty spot on!

If the Toyota one is a true pearlescent, then I'm a monkeys uncle lol

I did originally buy the actual Tamiya pearlescent white paints as that's the GR86 I was preferring at the time. But as I got close to painting it, I changed my mind on the model and car and went for red instead

At least with the GR86 you can just remove the centre propshaft and lock the forward output to get the correct wheel drive. With the Yaris it’s stuck in ‘broken transfer box’ mode

I quite fancy one of these, I haven’t built one in years now but used to love modifying them! I also fancy one of the Hobby Japan GR86’s that I’ve seen on Instagram.
