GR86 The GR86 “The Orders / Owners List / GR86 Register”

I think that in the current climate Subaru simply can't churn them out fast enough, it's not emissions related. Will300 nailed it, allocations are made between the BRZ and GR86 to each market segment and they are limited everywhere, its not confined to the UK or Europe.

Why we only got one spec, who knows, maybe it was to streamline the process? Or it might be a marketing decision by Toyota GB so it slots nicely in the middle of the 3 car GR range. I do kind of like how unfussy it is, pick a gearbox pick and colour job done.
 
I think its well marketed by Toyota for sure. Over hyped most likely for the sake of the small subset of people who would actually buy a car like this when most want something dull as dishwater (think practical 320d or similar), Toyota would have you believing half the UK population is queuing up to buy one. It literally is a facelift of the GT86 by the look of it, something that's been in production for a while, I think the GR86 will be a good money maker for them and has generated a good amount of publicity and brand awareness for other GR products globally.

But I've no doubt it'll be a hugely fun car though and I'm glad its been produced (Toyota and Mazda making some of the few cars I find interesting in a sea of 300-400hp kitchen appliances weighing in at 1600kg). Its what I wanted in terms of paper figures really and there's no denying there are few cars like this available in these supposed final twilight hours of the combustion engine. Could be a good one to go out with.

What time did you receive your first confirmation email? Trying to judge how far down the list they have got...

Ordered just after 10am when the orders opened, and confirmation email came through at 10:06, so think mine would have been one of the first to go through. If you have an order confirmation, and can see the car when you log in to the toyota website don't be sweating, you have a car!

Late Aug/ Sep is a long wait 😫My current gt86 finance is ending in July.

He said once the orders are processed a bit further down the line and we have a chassis number allocated we'll start to get more info and it will go in to the MyT app.

Never a dull moment in this ordering process. I'm 10:12 so will hopefully hear late today rather than Monday but a lot of you were quicker!
 
Likewise just got the follow-up phone call from Toyota, estimated delivery end Aug / early Sep for my manual electric blue. My confirmation email was 10:07.

Buy a snotter off gumtree/ebay with 3 months MOT then weigh it in, bet you will get most of your money back so just a bit of tax, insurance and fuel.
