Hello all,

I wanted to pass on some bad news. I've recently heard that fellow Zoo member @MartinT suddenly and recently passed away.

I didn't know Martin personally, but knew him very well by reputation. He was well known as an active member of the GT86 community, and of course now this one, with his popular imported second gen BRZ build (https://www.gr-zoo.com/threads/importing-my-2023-jdm-brz.9134/).

Always affable, informative and helpful whenever I interacted with him on here, so for me and I'm sure a lot of you, this will come as a bit of a shock.
As I said, I didn't know Martin personally, but I saw the post on the UK GT86/BRZ Facebook owner's group from his friend Craig - I figured there might be a lot of people here who weren't members of that group, so I asked if I might share the news here.

With condolences to his friends and family - RIP Martin. Going to miss reading about your build :(

nb; I've already found Martin's marketplace thread for his wheels and messaged the buyer.

Heartbreaking news. He was truly a valued member of the 86 community and will be greatly missed. My sincere condolences to Ruth, his family, and friends.

Really shocked and sad to hear this.

I met Martin a couple of times at Blackbush. He was a really lovely guy, keen to help others and loved his car.

He will be missed.

Like others, enjoyed reading the post, my condolences to his family.
A stark reminder to not sweat the small stuff/detail and enjoy life as much as you can where possible. Car will be taken out over the weekend and will drop a couple of gears and pin it in respect for a fellow petrolhead who has sadly passed, rest well sir.

I didn't know Martin and never met him, but it was clear from his posts that he was a generous, friendly man who wanted to share his knowledge and help members to improve their cars. I must admit that a lot of the technical stuff went over my head, but I regarded him as so much more than 'that guy with the BRZ'. He'll be missed on here.
RIP

Well put by Cambman and I would say echos my thoughts hearing this sad news. Reading his posts gave me the sense that he’d have been the type of chap I’d have enjoyed speaking with had we met in person.

My condolences to his family and close friends.

Wow. Never met but is a shock and I really enjoyed his build thread. He was only posting a few days ago. As others have said, sweating the small stuff is pointless. Go out and enjoy it as tomorrow isn't guaranteed
