GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

I hope it's not the one with the 2.0... I would sell mine immediately and never buy a Toyota again... every year they made version after version... the buyer is not protected... but I think (maybe) it's just a new color... it seems identical to ours
What was different with the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolutions? Every 1-2 years they had a new iteration as well. I like that and I'm glad and thankful Toyota is still bringing these awesome cars to the European market.

I didn't say it's fair, but imagine who's waiting for the My25 with Aero Pack to arrive and these guys throw out another one for the same price... Do you think it's fair to the buyer? No...

At least they could send a private email to the owners... Like "hey there if I was you I Will sell my GR, we are goin to sell this better new version of your brand new car Next month" 🤣 Never seen that before in any other brand man WTF .
And yes I Will do the same as you said. It's my first brand new car and my first Toyota. It looks like It Will be the last one too 😒

Idk, I would not see it that tragically. People who ordered GR Yaris ordered especially for what it already is; flashed out high powered 3 cylinder combined with agile and fun chassis. They are still getting that, new version of a car does not mean its degrading the ability of previous one. If its again another special version of current one, honestly I don't care because they will be already allocated anyway :ROFLMAO: .

If it will be indeed new version with 4 cylinder that will be definitely a let down mainly to new folk. But on the other hand 3 cylinder version has years and years of well documented issues/fixes/tips on forums with wide support of parts and other solutions. With brand new engine it will be a usual steep learning curve for everyone involved, with obviously possible gremlins that could pop out any time. Toyota is definitely up there in reliability, but new engine is new engine and everyone knows how wrong it can go for even major manufacturers. We will see.

I'm not sure the 4 cylinder would fit in current engine bay, hence it being in the back for testing?
But let's not get ahead of ourselves anyway. I was just being a bit of an arse, sorry.

It may not be whole a new edition plus that photo doesn't seem to have aero bonnet or wing (or anything new) so would be a downgrade in that regard. Only 2 days to find out!

(But if it is a new edition then I will be chuckling ever so slightly 😄 and if it is 4 cyl then I'd seriously consider selling my gen1 😱)

Doesn't really matter to me personally if they release anything new, I bought my car with the intention to keep it and keep driving it when I'm retired (I'm 35 😆) so the value isn't really a concern for me. Also they didn't bother releasing the aero package in Belgium so if a new, more powerful version is released I doubt it'll be available for me, so no regrets there either.

Also we really don't know what this teaser is about, they could announce the end of production, a transition to hybrid powertrains, who knows.

It will certainly be a minor update, but imagine who is receiving the my25 and finds out that the 2.0 L comes out... it's not right to do things like this...

Has anyone had the courage to try it? 😂 Maybe they let it warm up while stationary and then shifted it a few gears, I'll never know... so both revs and boost are limited?! I'm really happy with that...
I have tried at times as there was no other choice, it is really slow when still not up to temp, you should be fine.

Sorry, I use the translator and I don't understand what you mean... anyway in my opinion (if the 2.0L fits in the hood of the Yaris), they don't waste it in a mk2... they'll make the mk3

Yeah, if you look at the engine bay of the Yaris, there's not much room for another cylinder in there. Would be a *lot* of re-engineering.

I'm not even sure they will make another GR Yaris as we know it today. This generation is now over six years old so surely there's not going to be 'gen3' version of the current shell.

With it looking like the next WRC car will be based on something else in future I think that even if they make a GR version of the next Yaris it will not be to the extreme of today's model and will be more like the GR Corolla, in that it will be a more conventional hot version of an existing car rather than something semi-bespoke.

Btw was there a Gen 2 version of GR Yaris RS? The Japan only version with body of GR Yaris but combined with 118 bhp 1.5l engine and fwd only. Maybe it will be facelifted rs?
