GR Yaris Cracked roof wrap

Just out of curiosity, for those that had the wrap replaced under warranty, how long did it take from raising the issue to getting it booked in at the bodyshop?

I'm currently trying to get my roof wrap replaced under warranty due to noticing two small cracks on the wrap where I noticed some slight bubbling about a year ago but only noticed th cracks in the wrap a few months ago, it's taking a while I raised the issue in may,

dealer in MK came back 2 weeks ago to say they won't do it cos I'm past the three year manufacturers warranty and now only have the service activated warranty, I reminded them that I have a five year warranty s per their own T&C's stating any car ordered the car before June 2021 when the warranty changed will have a five year warranty from registration, they went back to Toyota with it and I'm still waiting,

Also did you get a warranty claim reference or something along those lines when it was raised? As I haven't had anything just emails back and forth with the dealer regarding it,

Cheers folks

for context, i raised the issue in October 2023...still not done and STILl going through the internal processes of Toyota. Mine was registered in Dec 2020 so was well within the 5-years.

Is there a difference between the original warranty and the service activated warranty? If so where is this published?

Yes Theres a difference, track driving not covered as an example. It’s on the Toyota website under relax warranty.

Had a phone call today to say Toyota have approved the replacement roof wrap, dropping the car off 03/09 to go to the bodyshop, lucky I had the 5 year warranty not the 3 as I'm currently 4 years 2months into ownership, if anyone is close to the end of the 3 year warranty I'd suggest checking your roof wrap.

I've just seen this tread and very surprised this is happening to our roof wrap. I've had the bubbling issue from time to time but no cracking.
I was under the impression that if you keep servicing your car at Toyota your original warranty would be extended. I don't consider this roof wrap as a consumable item, like brakes, discs and clutch.
Knowing what I know now, I will be cleaning and treating mine with RENOVO, I have used this on my convertible with a vinyl roof, the roof is still in excellent condition after 34 years. I'm sure there are many other products but this one is tried and tested.

3M (market vinyl leader) guarantee their vinyl on a flat surface for 3 years I believe and sides I think the most is 7 years off the top of my head. Somewhere it used to say in the early Toyota manual but believe it was subsequently removed that the wrap had a service life of 10 years.

As far as I know, XPEL will guarantee for 10 years which is pretty bloody good I'd say.
Also as far as i know, the roof is only covered up to a max. of 5 years even if you have the car serviced year on year at Toyota to extend the warranty up to 10 years.

pretty much what I was told, they wouldn't cover it past the original manufacturers warranty, so either 3 or 5 years depending when the car was ordered, mine was ordered 3/4 months before the warranty changed to 3years but toyota still gave the 5 year warranty to all cars ordered before June 2021 and the 5 years starts from registration date, it's in their warranty T&Cs, had to point that out to them though when they refused the claim put in for the roof at first because the car was just over 4 years old.

Luckily i'm a Dec 2020 reg date so 5 years for me, plus i flagged this in October 2023!

It looks like (finally) Abbey Toyota in Redhill have managed to get TGB to agree to having the old OE wrap removed, roof lacquered and finished then have a 3rd party cover in XPEL clear - the cost of all this is still less than the cost of the OE vinyl on it's own!
